The Grounds For Sculpture located NJ I found this mainly oudoor exhibit to be one of the most fascinating museums I'll ever visit. The sculptures placed carefully respecting and often playing off each other's space is wonderful to behold. The gounds itself is sculpted to accomodate each piece. [I will ad info on each piece as I determine it] groundsforscupture.com Not a scupture - REAL needles on a bush near that little sculpture with the little giraffes.

From Wikipedia:
"The Arc de Triomphe is a monument in Paris, France that stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle, also known as the Place de l'Étoile. It is at the western end of the Champs-Élysées. The triumphal arch honors those who fought for France, particularly during the Napoleonic Wars. On the inside and the top of the arc there are all of the names of generals and wars fought. Underneath is the tomb of the unknown soldier from World War I.
The Arc is on the historical axis (L'Axe historique) — a sequence of monuments and grand thoroughfares on a route which goes from the courtyard of the Louvre Palace to the outskirts of Paris. The monument was designed by Jean Chalgrin in 1806, and its iconographic program pitted heroically nude French youths against bearded Germanic warriors in chain mail and set the tone for public monuments, with triumphant nationalistic messages, until World War I.
It was commissioned in 1806 after the victory at Austerlitz by Emperor Napoleon at the peak of his fortunes. Laying the foundations alone took two years, and in 1810 when Napoleon entered Paris from the west with his bride Archduchess Marie-Louise of Austria, he had a wooden mock-up of the completed arch constructed. The architect Jean Chalgrin died in 1811, and the work was taken over by Jean-Nicolas Huyot. During the Restoration, construction was halted and would not be completed until the reign of King Louis-Philippe, in 1833–36 when the architects on site were Goust, then Huyot, under the direction of Héricart de Thury. Napoleon's body passed under it on 15 December 1840 on its way to its second and final resting place at Les Invalides.
The monument stands 49.5 metres (162 ft) in height, 45 metres (148 ft) wide and 22 metres (72 ft) deep. It is the second largest triumphal arch in existence. Its design was inspired by the Roman Arch of Titus. The Arc de Triomphe is so colossal that three weeks after the Paris victory parade in 1919, marking the end of hostilities in World War I, Charles Godefroy flew his Nieuport biplane through it, with the event captured in a newsreel."

At Crown Point high above the town stands Burnley’s exciting new panopticon the ‘Singing-Ringing Tree’ – a unique musical sculpture in the form of a tree bending against the wind, designed by award-winning architects Tonkin-Liu. As the wind blows it produces a low and mellow hum through pipes which are tuned so that they do not disturb the wildlife.

Animals were kept at the tower in ancient times, and these sculptures are reminiscent of that. Now the exotic animal collection is housed at the London Zoo.
Here, in this bed of yellow flowers, she is always sleeping.
This is a detail study from a scupture in the Galleries Gardens, taken during the Silverpop Photowalk
These sculptures were part of Bhima Devi Temple at Kalka, Haryana. Such beautiful and important part of our heritage again has no one to take care. A famous heritage conservation society remembers this palce just once a year and organises a so called conservation programme and heritage walk. Lot of media attention is arranged too. Sheer waste of time and money!
I've driven by these scuptures a million times and thought I should take some pictures of them and finally took the time too.

I made my second visit to the Texas Renaissance Festival (TRF) in November 2011 - what a blast! The TRF is huge, very spread out, with so many shows and performers to check out. Another very enjoyable part of the TRF is just watching the cast members and faces in the crowd - some many people come in costume - and about 99.9% let me take their photos - what a nice bunch!
I hope to be there again in 2012 for more good shooting.
