When I made this, I was thinking about the pagan oracles who used wands, magic gemstones, scrying glasses and animal spirits!

In crystal healing obsidian is used for psychic protection and to deflect lowering energy levels that are projected from others. It is used to stimulate the root chakra for drawing in the earths energy to strengthen the system. Obsidian is known to bring things hidden to the surface thus making it a powerful tool in healing. It is used to remove deception and bring clarity to issues that may not otherwise become transparent.

In Crystal Magic Obsidian is associated to fire; its energy is projective with powers known to be protective and grounding. It is used in magic for divination, and peace. Black obsidian may be carried for protection and it is believed that one may use it as a scrying tool.

Genuine Copper has properties as a conductor making it useful if physical or mental energies feel blocked. It is used in Crystal Wands to combine the healing properties of the Natural Crystals. Copper is used to harmonize and cleanse personal space and is ideal for the use in healing pendants, talisman, and dowsing crystals.

Quartz stones that are clear in the center, with a snowy "crust" on the outside, are referred to as "Seer Stones" because they can be used for scrying. This was a gift to me from a lovely lady of Native American heritage.

I didn't have any success scrying in it.

In addition to the piece itself, which is typically overpriced but highly decorative and desirable, this photo documents other traditional Niçoise motifs. The de rigeur fur trim (fun optional), de trop printed coat and, of course, designer handbag in background.

Vesz’aste Kenviir, hailing from the Eastern Empire, is a tall half-elven druid. Vesz’aste tries to hide his druidic nature in public, using his druidic powers only to save the lives of half-elf children in danger. To help hide these abilities, he only speaks and writes in the Druidic language with druids he can trust, and always under the protection of anti-scrying magic. Although Vesz’aste’s clothing changes from place to place as he wanders the world, he is never without his long leather overcoat, eye patch, red bandana, scythe and stylish red and blue sash. He is easily recognized by his blonde hair (I know the sketch has black hair but I only had black, blue and red ink,) red eye and scars running down across his eyes. Recently, Vesz’aste has taken up the scimitar, a lithe weapon that the elf part of him finds enticing.

Trying to find out what the rest of the days have in store, I am not having much luck ;)

Weirdly, the distorted image within the crystal is both inverted and made smaller, making the pedestrian seem more distant, which he would have been a few moments before...
