This Gospel book is representative of a large group of illuminated manuscripts produced during the second half of the twelfth century and possibly in the first decades after the Crusader conquest of Constantinople (1204). Its one surviving miniature has been overpainted in the twentieth century but retains some of its original character. Each Gospel opens with an exuberantly ornamented headpiece.

First ever band shoot with my friends In Scripture.
I'm pretty pleased with this shot for my first ever time using strobes and shooting a band properly so keep an eye out for more!
Strobist: 2 YN460 II's - white shoot through umbrellas Camera left & right.
I had a fill light behind them but it wouldn't fire all night :(
Thanks to the band and of course Sam & Andrew for helping hold the light stands ;)

Another shot of the old Scripture Building after the fire. Note the inscription: 1882. R. C. Scripture. Remember, 1882 is less than thirty years after the town was founded. These people worked very hard to put their town on the map. UPDATE: This is now the site of Dix Coney Island cafe, a 24/7 place. The negative has deteriorated, causing a color shift. This was probably shot on Kodak stock, among the highest quality in the industry. Nevertheless, color stock will deteriorate with age.
