Yesterday, on November 12, 2007, World Tipitaka Edtion was handed over as a royal gift of Wisdom & Peace to the Genernal Secretary of Maha Bodhi society of India, the first instittue in India to have received from H.R.H. Princess Galyani Vadhana of Thailand, Honorary President of Tipitaka Presentation Worldwide.
The 40-volume Roman-script Pali Tipitaka is enshirned in the newly reinnovated historic building which is now a Temple of Maha Bodhi Society at Buddhagaya.

The new temple where the Royal Gift of Tipitaka from Thailand is now permanetly enshrined.
The 40-volume Pali Tipitaka "The World Edition" was handed over to Maha Bodhid Society of India only one day previously.

A friendly monk we met on the road-side who showed us all around the pagodas, speaking the most broken English I have ever heard. I probably comprehended about 1 in 50 words - which was enough to roughly follow what he was saying, so I nodded along. He gave Pete and I an entire schpeel, carrying on as if we understood him completely. Here he is holding up the scriptures and standing in an old pagoda that is built around a bamboo skeleton.
