This is a modified Parkside kits 'Grampus' converted into a shunter.
Other than the basic wagon, this is a scratchbuild.
Waiting for the start of the next phase of my layout, the electronical phase, I am willing to do some scenery which can be fit in the layout later. Building scenery, creating the land, the landscape is in fact the work I like to do most. Let’s start with a small farm project. The Proto Model farm and a scratch build farm shed together on a piece of land.
This scratch build shed I made before, see www.flickr.com/photos/27262916@N00/8420284615/in/album-72... But the roof could never satisfy me so I changed for a new one. The model is ready so far, a feed silo will follow, weathering will be done later.
Both buildings will be one farm on a piece of typical dutch coutryside.
Photo 5 and 6; before to add the plaster, the styrodur needs a bit of sanding. The first layer of plaster has been done here.
This would be a fun scratchbuild movie prop. The electronics for the digital speedometer wouldn't be too difficult either, you could probably base it off a 555 timer chip. I'm willing to bet the remote itself is just a late 1980's store-bought car/plane controller.
It's been a long time since I did anything with this one.. just playing with the turrets tonight. A long way to go still.

The 1/285th scale USS Wasp scratchbuild project. Today some of the interior pieces were assembled and installed. Much detailing remains to be done
Cleaned up some fluff and anti-gravity grit on the pipes, filled a couple of notches on one of the base edges, and re-primed.
Making my first Adeptus Mechanicus casting. The polyurethene resin sets spectacularly fast - it was clear when I went to get my camera, but had gone this cloudy a mere 90 seconds later.
I had some latext left over after pouring the first mould, so quickly made up some extras from some bitz I had handy. It's a good thing I did since I mixed up a bit too much resin as well.
I need some decently sized Adeptus Mechanicus symbols for a terrain project I'm working on. The problem? No one makes the damn things any more. So, the only solution is to make my own.
I'm building the base model out of balsa wood and other stuff I have lying around the place, then I'll take a mould off it and make as many as I need! Theoretically :)
Ma.k Maschinen Kreiger scratchbuilt space suit, made with old packaging, pens, old mouse parts and other "junk" bits. Body was made from a large spherical two peice promotional chewing gum packet coated with a layer of white DAS clay
After fooling around with my first attempt of the 1/35 Cerberus scratchbuild, I decided to ditch it and start with a better foundation. This time I'm using the 1/16 Monogram 'Rolls Royce Phantom 2' fenders. The nice part of doing it this way is I have the correct shape, and accurate-scaled other parts (such as the front axle). This makes judging the sizes much easier. One thing I am not crazy about right now is the lack of the spare wheel indents on the sides, and the horizontal lines on the rear of the fenders; they are far from what they are on Kow's 1/8 RR Pocher kit. I could fix the lines easily enough, but I'm not looking forward to cutting apart the fenders further to make the spare wheel indents.

Header is apparently the correct farming term. These need hydraulics and plumbing, and I'm wondering about widening them with a second row of tines that folds up?
1/20 Ma.k style scratch build using a set of cheap (£1) bicycle mudguards, 2 spice jar lids and a yakult bottle. Painted with rattle cans over plasticine masking and weathered with diluted emulsion and water colour washes.
My first attempt at scratching something. I took some "For Sale" and "Garage Sale" signs from Menard's and tried turning them into something.
About 10 years ago when I was still building model kits and doing alot of scratchbuilding, I came across this weird looking piece of plastic at the Salvation Army. It took a few minutes to realize it was a camera. I bought it, took it home and threw it in my spare parts box with the intention of hacking into "something".
I had forgotten all about it until I was scrounging around in the basement a couple of months ago. Now that I'm shooting film almost exclusively, I'm glad I forgot about it and didn't take the razor saw to it. That would have been a crime. It still has the $3.00 price tag on it which was what I paid for it.
It takes 620 film, but since I shoot so much medium format I have loads of 120 film in my stash. 120 is the same size film as 620, but the spools are slightly different sizes. So, I've started to become quite adept at using my changing bag to respool the 120 film onto old 620 spools.

This kit was just one of those easy snap-together models; just a quick, fun build with various components. No engine, no major details. I'm adding scratchbuilt details based on the Back to the Future DeLorean, but this will have a sleeker, smoother appearance. Not sure about paint scheme yet; silver or yellow, possibly.. Maybe two-tone?

This was one of my first attempts scratchbuilding using photoshop. Again, we've got some window issues. Also, I need to print a new roof.
