Okay, I added the blower pulley-tensioner.. You won't see much of it when it's completed; I'm going to plum (wire) the engine and eventually weather it.

The 1/285th scale USS Wasp scratchbuild project. Today some of the interior pieces were assembled and installed. Much detailing remains to be done

Actually I'm not sure if "scratchbuilding" is 100% accurate. All the black plastic parts you see in this photo are stock of modified Athearn GP-35 parts. The rest is my work.

rear sheathing done...one board at a time

Scratch-built 2.6x upscale of an Estes C6-5 motor. Designed to fly on an Estes C6-5 motor....

Fujimi Suzuki Escudo Lowride. Changed the wheel to Aoshima 19" ABC Glanzen. Change the front seat from Aoshima Rocket Bunny Toyota 86. Change the steering wheel. Scratch build roof rack. Add muffler tip detail. Add scratch build antena in front right. Finished in Candy Lime Green (TS-52) with Grey/Buff interior. Custom setting suspension. Figure from Fujimi driver set with custom clothing.

They need a bit of weeding - removing fibres which point the wrong way - but otherwise I think I can fit the knights.

 

I added greenery, cleaned up and gave everyhing a layer of Dullcote. Then stippled the middles of the pipes with Tin Bitz and Boltgun Metal sparingly, before sponging on some Agrax Earthshade.

 

the oil stains are layers of Agrax Earthshade (matt and gloss) and Typhus Corrosion.

Maschinen Kreiger inspired scratchbuilt ship made from various "junk" and DAS clay. Undercoated with automotive grey primer with a UK berlin "style" camo applied using sponged on emulsion tester pot paint, weathered with artists water colours, emulsion paints and physical wear to expose the undercoat

Ma.k Maschinen Kreiger scratchbuilt space suit, made with old packaging, pens, old mouse parts and other "junk" bits. Body was made from a large spherical two peice promotional chewing gum packet coated with a layer of white DAS clay

1/20 Ma.k style scratch build using a set of cheap (£1) bicycle mudguards, 2 spice jar lids and a yakult bottle. Painted with rattle cans over plasticine masking and weathered with diluted emulsion and water colour washes.

My new scratchbuild heavy IG tank is slwoly coming together and the Dencara Camo pattern fits him nicely into the scene

I've added some more details and greeblies to my scratchbuild..

Nearing completion of build-up, still need to finish the surrounding 'arms'.

Junk Tank Rock style 1/20 scratchbult wheeled bot made from a spherical promotional chewing gum packet, toy parts, staplers and other greeblies. The model was painted and weathered using emulsion tester pots and the base is premixed decorators plaster filler sprayed with decorative snow ( the canned stuff people spray on their windows at Christmas) which was then fixed with spray varnish.

The original tennis racket handle was missing years ago. This was scratch build.

I've been planning this in my head for a month, so I based the construction on observations made in the "real world".

 

I finally sat down and cobbled this together with styrene materials that I had available and using prototype (14' x 48') dimensions as reference. It's not as spindly as the prototypes appear to be, but this first attempt is acceptable.

 

The next step is a shot of brown paint, some weathering and custom images....
