Tonight the trick or treaters left me enough time to chop up some plastic and make a canopy to keep my minature customers dry while they pump gas. Also finished another pump.

My first attempt at scratching something. I took some "For Sale" and "Garage Sale" signs from Menard's and tried turning them into something.
My new scratchbuild heavy IG tank is slwoly coming together and the Dencara Camo pattern fits him nicely into the scene

Cleaned up some fluff and anti-gravity grit on the pipes, filled a couple of notches on one of the base edges, and re-primed.
Partially scratchbuild Fire Brushtruck based on a 1:18 MAISTO Hummer. Beside the front end up to the drivers cabine, the entire rear section is handmade by me. The Fire truck is an almost 100% replica of the brush units former used by the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD).
Since this model was made for somebody else, who wanted to apply his own decals, this truck has no markings on.

Plasticard frames are a push-fit on the donor chassis. Pony truck wheels are just there for positioning and checking clearance.
I've been planning this in my head for a month, so I based the construction on observations made in the "real world".
I finally sat down and cobbled this together with styrene materials that I had available and using prototype (14' x 48') dimensions as reference. It's not as spindly as the prototypes appear to be, but this first attempt is acceptable.
The next step is a shot of brown paint, some weathering and custom images....

Okay, I added the blower pulley-tensioner.. You won't see much of it when it's completed; I'm going to plum (wire) the engine and eventually weather it.
Could it be? This project has progressed to the point where I can start painting it?
I will almost be sad when I'm done fiddling with this thing. Hopefully I don't screw it up with the airbrush.

Doors and Cowls are from aluminum panels/plates 0.3 mm thick. (that are used in newspaper presses who sometimes need to get rid of their old expired plates).
