Right after our play-time with the feather-wand, he was laying down and I pet him on his hip and back leg and he swiped at me and got me. I don’t understand. Is he just over-energetic being a 1 1/2 year old cat? Or what is going on? We have a peaceful household, only my 16-year-old son and I (in a 1000 sq ft apt), but my son (I am very proud of) has him on a feeding schedule and is doing research on cat behavior and watching videos. No ma very proud of how responsible he is being. I love Henry even though he is being “mean.” I really don’t understand. He snuck out the door when the pizza lady delivered pizza tonight. He really needs to be outside but be are in an apartment so it really isn’t an option. We have a harness for him but haven’t tried it yet.

Scratch at TakeOff 2015
Theatre Hullabaloo is pioneering new ways of supporting artists in our region to make fantastic theatre for young audiences.
Working with our friends at Dance City, Live Theatre and Northern Stage, we have selected three artists who we have supported to develop three new ideas to scratch at this year’s TakeOff Festival.
Our artists have been mentored to develop their idea through our child-centred approach and have received a package of support that has included festival visits, masterclasses and sector specialist mentoring, enabling them to gain real insight into their target audience.
350 Scratchers celebrated Scratch's 5th birthday at MIT's Scratch Day event on Saturday, May 19, 2012.
My new watch, only 2 days old. :(
(Well, actually I knew was going to get scratched, so I chose a cheap model.)
Day 35 of 100. Squeaky's scratching post has arrived! It's a big one, for big cats, so he can stretch out nice and tall. We also had short bread biscuits with tea, which is a wonderful treat on cold and blistery days like today.
Glacially-smoothed & striated tillite in the Precambrian of Ontario, Canada.
Tillites are ancient, lithified tills (= unsorted, nonbedded, coarse-grained glacial deposits). This is part of the famous Gowganda Formation, a ~2.3 billion year old deposit in Ontario, Canada representing a very ancient Ice Age. Other glacially-deposited sedimentary rocks of Paleoproterozoic age have been reported from Wyoming, Finland, India, southern Africa, and Australia. The glaciation was likely a widespread event, and may have persisted for a long time. This ice age is hypothesized to have been triggered by decreasing levels of methane gas (CH4) in the atmosphere as oxygen gas (O2) levels increased (the methane oxidized to carbon dioxide). This lessened the effects of greenhouse warming, and resulted in climate cooling.
This tillite outcrop has been eroded, smoothed and striated by a much more recent Ice Age, during the Pleistocene. As glacial ice moves over landmasses, it erodes underlying rocks and picks up small to large pieces of debris. This debris accumulates at the base of the ice sheet and scrapes bedrock as the glacier moves, resulting in glacial scratches (glacial striations) (= thin scratch lines on rock) and glacial grooves (= large channels incised in rock).

this was a cool reflection off my car. It reminded me of a scratch mark that might be from a mountain lion. lol

The old town of Oamaru is made mainly of this stone called "Oamaru stone" funnily enough. Its made of compact limestone which is quarried at Weston, near Oamaru.
The stone is compact and hard. It is ideal for building purposes, especially where ornate moulding is required. The finished stonework has a creamy, sandy colour. Unfortunately, it is not strongly resistant to pollution, and can be prone to surface crumbling.
