Taken by me in my grandmother's yard in Wichita Falls, TX.

People sitting on cat scratcher. Cats sitting on couch.

"What?! Haven't you ever seen anyone scratch their chin on a tree?" Well, no.

As a city girl, I am endlessly fascinated by the presence of livestock in the middle of the suburbs. Driving by, I saw a herd near the road and was able to take the time for this shot.

The system seemed confusing, but it was finished about two hours earlier than last year.

I added the option of removable backdrops and scratch screens.

The trees were so low that in the wind the ends of the branches scratch on the ice and look like scratches fingernails would make on a chalkboard. Taken with a Nikon F2.

I've got the coolest little cat; his name's Scratch.

Oliver scratching his scratching post. He really likes the area just above the sisal section. Good boy!

I went downtown Toronto to meet a friend and former colleague for lunch. During my commute I listened to a few people chat about winning a lottery and what if…. On my way back to the train station after lunch I saw this man scratching away at lottery tickets. I thought perhaps he needed to win a touch more than most of us.

I’ve never taken street photos before.. given I’ve only recently started taking photos at all. I did not have the courage to ask the man to show me his face even though I am positive it would have been a image of much more impact than this.

Right after our play-time with the feather-wand, he was laying down and I pet him on his hip and back leg and he swiped at me and got me. I don’t understand. Is he just over-energetic being a 1 1/2 year old cat? Or what is going on? We have a peaceful household, only my 16-year-old son and I (in a 1000 sq ft apt), but my son (I am very proud of) has him on a feeding schedule and is doing research on cat behavior and watching videos. No ma very proud of how responsible he is being. I love Henry even though he is being “mean.” I really don’t understand. He snuck out the door when the pizza lady delivered pizza tonight. He really needs to be outside but be are in an apartment so it really isn’t an option. We have a harness for him but haven’t tried it yet.

Scratch at TakeOff 2015

Theatre Hullabaloo is pioneering new ways of supporting artists in our region to make fantastic theatre for young audiences.

Working with our friends at Dance City, Live Theatre and Northern Stage, we have selected three artists who we have supported to develop three new ideas to scratch at this year’s TakeOff Festival.

Our artists have been mentored to develop their idea through our child-centred approach and have received a package of support that has included festival visits, masterclasses and sector specialist mentoring, enabling them to gain real insight into their target audience.

Day 35 of 100. Squeaky's scratching post has arrived! It's a big one, for big cats, so he can stretch out nice and tall. We also had short bread biscuits with tea, which is a wonderful treat on cold and blistery days like today.

Scratch and Bleed. San Jose, CA 2016

We recently ate an outstanding meal at the St John Hotel in London, which started with pork scratchings served with taramasalata. We’ve recreated it using a recipe from Heston Blumenthal at Home and taramasalata from Brussels’ poshest supermarket.
