Walking around one evening at Circle B Bar Reserve near Lakeland, Florida, we were fortunate to come across this Great Egret scratching his toe. He measures about 38 inches (95cm) from beak-tip to tail-tip.

The Rosemary Beetle feeds on rosemary and lavender. I found this happy duo on our rosemary bush. The beetles are irridescent and hard to photograph for me.

This is a close-up of the roof of the bicycle shed at The National Physical Laboratory that I photographed through the border railings. I thought the shapes resembled palm tree fronds or the talons of a bird of prey.
