Last October 27, 2018 the preschool to grade 3 pupils of St. Francis Cainta celebrated Scouting Month with half a days’ worth of games and activities. The first part of the event is the presentation of their patrol yell where they express the virtues of becoming a good scout through coordinated marches, cheers, and dance moves - a routine they practiced for many days. The next part of the event is the Scout Olympics which is a series of fun games to test and develop the important characteristics of scouting such as teamwork, patience, awareness, and a strong character.
Parents were encouraged to let their children go by themselves with only their patrol mates and scout masters to encourage independence - an important characteristic needed to become successful in life.
All in all it was a lively event with the little scouts enjoying themselves while having fun learning the fundamental skills and values of scouting

FERRILL GROVER / CITY / BOY SCOUT: Scout Brothers: Caption reads, Boy Scouts who complain that everything about a hike is fun except the hiking will envy Grover Ferrill, 128 Southwest 26th St., above, and the 14 other members of the mounted troop being organized in the Capital Hill district. Each boy has his own horse and the troop will ride on "hikes." Weekly riding sessions also will be held, when instructions on care and grooming of horses will be given. Harold Barton is scoutmaster. It is believed that only one other mounted troop exists in the United States. Staff Photo by C. J. Kaho. Original Photo 03/02/1936. Published on 03-05-36.
