As good a track title as any and from a scottish band The Twilight Sad, so is perfect for this great sunset at Hosta beach.
Today's Macro Mondays theme is "Cutter".
I was struggling for an idea. I didn't want to turn the lawn mower upside down and macro the blade, or try to get the hedge trimmer teeth to look interesting. Sadly a knife looked like the only option until I found these minute scissors on the hall carpet.
I've set the doll's house scissors on the blade of some normal sized kitchen scissors. They are tiny!!!
i should not be allowed to own a pair of scissors. seriously.
and this is how long when they are straight. but usually they curl up through out the day. which means I've got poodle fringe by the end of my day.
i need a hair therapist.
and a bodyguard as my hair stylist is going to kill me.

oh oh. and i know too-short bangs can be so cool. but not on me. seriously. me? charlie brown head. short bangs do not help this illusion. i mean fact.
actually... it perhaps does prove that i am the real life Lucy Van Pelt. so there's that.
not sure if that is good or not.
(don't answer that).
And he totally stole them. Such a little troublemaker!
Macro Mondays: Run
Scene is about 2.75" across. The scissors are mini versions for découpage.
While focusing on the ROCK, this image gives a literal interpretation of the old hand game ROCK paper scissors.
(Note: the scissors are only 3 inches long, providing an idea of how little this ROCK is). The ROCK was found on one of our walks in the wilds of Northwestern Ontario suggesting that perhaps Mother Nature likes to play ROCK games, too.
Meeting the MacroMondays ROCK challenge.

WIT: I'm not sure if this counts as contemplative photography, but as I sat in the hair salon today waiting for my hair to be done, I noticed the tools of my stylist's trade, and it did make me rather contemplative about the work and art that hair cutting can be, if done well. In post, I did convert to bw for clarity, and cropped to square.

Kate is a paper-crafter and a friend lent her these for a project. When I saw the bag-o-scissors, I realized I. Must. Photograph.
Why so many? Each scissor has a different cut pattern. Evidently important for paper crafters.

Technical: AB1600 in softbox camera right, foam core reflector camera left, triggered by pocketwizard. Slammed the vibrance slider on this one. Tried the saturation slider, but things got a little too weird.

These super-sharp scissors were made from recycled car parts in northern Vietnam. Here's the story about how I found them: elizabethbriel.com/knife-village
Created to hang in a friend's salon. I had a horrible time photographing it and unfortunately the lock of hair is still pretty washed out.
For this assignment:
"Take a portrait of a person incorporating these three elements: rock, paper, and scissors."
a few weeks ago, i was shopping with my girl at a vintage shop and found these cute little scissors. i think they are actually bonsai shears, but i love their vintage look.
they've been making a regular appearance in my instagram shots, so there was no doubt what my one thing would be.
so here my first installment. can't wait to play with them more.
We found this rock while on vacation in Anacortes, WA. One of the locals told us it was a community event. Lots of rocks were painted and then hidden all over the city to get people outdoors and to promote kindness. Sorry this is getting posted so late. I had a very difficult time posting it as Flickr kept saying it wasn't a valid photo. Not sure why. I had to email to my iPad then upload it. The rock is approximately 2". Happy Macro Monday!!
