During World War II drugs such as sulfa (Sulfanilamide) and penicillin were discovered and advanced surgical techniques were introduced to make these improvements possible, but the first reason for such successes in improving the mortality rate was the speed with which wounded men were treated. It began with the frontline combat medics. In the beginning of the war at training camps, medics had been mildly despised because many of them were conscientious objectors and often ridiculed. Sometimes called "Pill Pushers" or worse. But in combat they were loved, respected and admired. Medic Buddy Gianelloni recalls, ‘Overseas it becomes different. They called you medic and before you know it, it was Doc. I was 19 at the time."

However, I still thought he was so cute that I took several photos without any hesitation.

On our Journey in People's park we came a cross 100's of little children!! I am not sure how many time'e we heard the word Laowai but it was many!! The children acted as you see in this photo screaming LAOWAI LAOWAI!!!!

Our journey was to short but awesome. We had many memorable moments and when 3 large loawai's walk the streets of china we get attention. This yellow-faced whipsnake found in Sundown NP yesterday did not like the look of us at all!

The facial markings are characteristic of the species.
We went to Baghdad's Karada neighbourhood the day before Iraq's national elections. While the older kids didn't seem to mind - and some even posed - this boy started to cry after seeing me and the camera.
What we didn’t realize was that the Comet began with a 96 foot drop. As you can see, Molly got scared. But she recovered quickly and had a great time on the rest of the ride, smiling and yelling along the way.
