ODC - Between a rose and a thorn (The angle just gave me that pinned in feeling so I thought it was appropriate)
Man, I've been really having a rough time the last couple days with shooting. I've been trying to find a good scene to use in a tutorial for a few friends of mine, but the first time I screwed it up on a few frames. The second time, I tried to compensate for it, but screwed up another few frames again. Its funny how, if I wasn't trying to do a tutorial, I probably wouldn't have messed it up at all.
Anyway, I was out tonight (in my sleepy pants) shooting because I screwed up my shot from earlier and didn't realize it until after my son's baseball game. It was late too. Luckily, I was in the right place at the right time. The angle was just about right. Chevelle's Too Scared To Run was playing on my Napster when I shot this and it just felt right.

I was taking a few shots from Meg's nap when something fell and she got a fright. I never saw this face until now, really cool !
Due to the pandemic, patients enter the hospital waiting room alone. Normally they would be accompanied by friends and family who soothe their fears. With a pain in their chest, their head swirls with fear; is it a heart attack or a panic attack? They wait scared and alone.
These little girls -- who live across line of control (LOC)near Titwal Sector, of AJK, thought that my long L-shaped camera (Sony F727) was a sort of Gun and they expected to here a big bang sound out of it, so they were scared.

This calf was really tired, scratching its eyes with its trunk, coming at us. At one point, he realized he was coming at us, got scared and tried to scare us. It hasn't the same effect as when his mother does it…
Her wig actually has two colours, blue and green but my camera didn't pick them up or the lighting just was too bad.

I finally got up the nerve to start the 100 strangers project. I've been wanting to do it for months, but always had an excuse as to why I shouldn't start. Well, I started. And I plan on making it a regular thing.
Meet Dave and Susie Payne, whom I met at a beach along the Oregon Coast. I actually don't remember the name of the beach, or where it was, as I drove a lot of the coast that day.
Now, I am a very shy person. I'm not very good at talking to people I don't know. This is one of the reasons I was so intent on doing this project. I thought it would force me to get out of my comfort zone. I think the key thing is to not be self conscious. So what if people think you're strange? You're probably never going to see them again anyway.
So, I kind of just jumped right into this. And it just so happened that the first people I asked were more than willing to be a part of what I was doing. Remind me why I was so scared?
This lovely couple intrigued me with their stylish bikes and leather jackets. Despite the rough biker look, they were very warm and friendly :) It just goes to show that stereotypes are meaningless.
I can't describe the feeling I had after taking this. . .it gave me a much needed boost (I'd pulled an all nighter in order to get to the coast early, so I was quite tired.) Just doing something you never thought you could do makes you feel so good ;)
So, thank you Dave and Susie for not backing out when I told you that you were my first "victims" ;) I hope you see this!
