We made entry to the abandoned building through the basement. We were ill prepared for such an adventure. No body has been inside for several years... No body was supose to enter it at all. We didn't know what lurked further in... We had heard stories of ghostly happenings. Were they true? It was pitch black upon descent, the air stank with the thick smell of mold and rotten wood. The only light we had to depend on was the flash of our cameras. Every few steps we took turns flashing. We held our breath to see what expose itself at us... worried on what may appear hidding just ahead of us ready to attack, grab us, and force us to believe in its desires...
It took me a while to get my camera open and working, and by that time this young girl’s joyful playing became a suspicious awareness of me.

I've been in situations like this before, where I save someone and turn my attention to them once the smoke clears. It doesn't matter who I save or what I save them from. I get the same treatment. They tell me I'm a monster, a psychopath, a murderer, blah, blah blah always the same bullshit. I mean they're all right but it gets tedious hearing the same thing over and over again. How hard is it for someone to say "thank you"? For fuck's sake, people. Never has someone ever said my name, though.. Not Bloodfall, That's happened a few times. My lesser name, Jerrick. And yet when she first heard my voice behind the armor, Linda said it. The world just stopped right there, I swear to god. I was shocked, and scared. Not because she knew me, but because of what I may have to do with her now. Pre-judging Linda was one of the stupidest mistakes I've ever made. I was expecting her to be no different. "You're a monster! You're a psycho! Get away from me, you fucking freak!" ....actually, I think she has said the last one to me before. But here, she didn't say any of those to me. Instead, I got:
"You just saved my life..."
Of all the people, she was first one to actually think and understand what I just did for her and many others. She also wasn't afraid me. She didn't fear Bloodfall. I've always wanted to find someone who....understood me, I suppose, and here she was. She made some smartass remark about why I'm never around to take her calls at night, and asked why I do this. I didn't know her well enough at the time so I wasn't gonna give her my life story right there. I told her this was a pretty good way to train. I then escorted her to her shitty apartment, to make sure she got home safe. This was the east end, though. She'll never be safe. Luckily in MMA I went pro not much later, and the money started rolling in for the both of us. I guess it's just like those cheesy cartoons say. Things do get better when you stick together...
Came out to the living room with grandma and I don't believe he liked what he saw on the TV.
Came home this day and my mom and sister were have a field day taking pictures of my nephew. They were borrowing a nice Canon 40D and 300mm lens. Have not seen how any of their shots came out yet. I recently bought a the plastic wonder 50mm lens and went and grabbed it and joined in the fun. This is the results of playing with my newest toy.
Our car car broke down a couple of hours from Nairobi. This boy came and stared in the window but was clearly afraid of us.

One of the cats walked by, causing the chickadees to call out the "cat alarm". That made this little Red-Breasted Nuthatch freeze in fear, allowing some easier shots for me.
You can compare the black cap on this male with the shots that I posted today of a female. Her cap is lighter colored.

So, as most of you know, I am recently single again and a little scared by this development in my life. I did not always have a lot of self-respect, never really dated (just hooked up), and am not too sure that I am as attractive as I used to be. I don't know what I'm doing. I also have a horrible tendency of overdoing it when I do like somebody......I am scared I'll meet the greatest guy and then just ruin it. So, better for me to get used to spending my naked time alone with my thoughts......I think I will spend a LONG time this way.
