This picture shows various pieces of metal that have a known mass (and weight.) Since the two are directly proportional to each other (F=m(9.8)), scales on earth always measure weight and can also give mass if the numbers on the dial are changed. This can most easily be seen with the smaller green and silver spring scale in the middle, which measures grams (a mass) and Newtons (a weight.) The next video discusses how these various scales give a reading that can be used to obtain the object's weight or mass

HO Scale 1:87

Its been a while since I did this kind of work. I recently aquirred some plastic HO scale model freight cars from a friend who found them on freecycle. The plastic model was weathered using artist oils, acrylic paint, pastel chalk..drybrush and washes...i forgot how much fun this is

and remember: "rust never sleeps"

Im test folding scales to my next desing, scaled dragon. In real version grid would be two or three times smaller.

See our horse team in the bottom right? I love the openness, the huge scale of Ladakh and the Kyama Barma Chu valley. I have procesed this shot naturally; the colours are subtle.

Talc, at number 1, is the softest mineral on the Mohs Hardness Scale. When finely ground, it is the basic ingredient in talcum powder.

Specimen about 5 inches long. Found by me in Cameron, Montana.

Once large enough, Atlantic salmon change into the grilse phase, where they become ready to return to precise fresh water tributary in which they were born. After returning to their natal streams, the salmon will cease eating altogether prior to spawning. Although largely unknown, odor — the exact chemical signature of that stream — is suspected to play an important role in how salmon return to the area where they hatched. Once above around 250 g, the fish no longer become prey for birds and many fish, although seals do prey upon them. Seals that commonly eat Atlantic salmon are the gray and common seals. Survivability to this stage has been estimated at between 14 and 53%

This rock is about 2 inches across. It demonstrates numerous faults at this scale. On the left there appears to be a graben with normal faults. The right side shows reverse faults. I think that the only way you can develop both normal and reverse faults without reversing stress fields is in a strike-slip environment. That is why is is important to understand the environment in which faulting has occurred rather than basing conclusions on a single fault.
