Scaled Quail inhabit the more arid areas of the West. These 3 were part of a covey of a dozen or more. Most of the time they were under the cholla cactus in the shade. Some locals refer to these as "cotton tops".

One of the moths that congregated around my blacklight has laid a string of eggs on the wall, and covered them with wing scales.

A modified figure-eight design was chosen in order to get a variety of landscaping and the maximum amount of tracks in the most compact space.
Because G-scale trains (1 : 22.5) on gauge-one tracks are so big, the layout is over three panels of plywood so that it may be disassembled.
This is a 4 exposure vertical panorama (or vertorama for short), showing the scale of the Purlingbrook Falls. Those palm trees near the base are between 25 and 40m tall.
At the top, on the far side, you can just see the green railings of the lookout where I took the previous shot.

This model features the Mclaren MP4/22 as it was raced at Montreal complete with white stripe on the tyres to denote the use of soft tyre compound. A 1/18th figure of Lewis Hamilton standing up with his arms raised celebrating his victory is mounted on the base on which his autograph is inscribed. A Chrome plaque is also mounted on the base featuring the McLaren logo, Canadian and British flags, together with the race date and 1st career victory for Lewis Hamilton along with a single numbered Limited Edition number.

This is an old photo I've recropped and slightly reprocessed for a contest. Theme is "texture" and I thought the green scales make an interesting example of that.
