I like the American Weigh SK-2KG scale because it's cheap ($22), can hold up to two KG (wow), has 0.1g resolution (double wow) and is small.

Or putain alors even. This bijou springette has broken loose from the battery housing of the digital scales. I doubt my chances of soldering sprung shiny steel back into place so it looks like in future a bit of wedgery and hope will have to do. Even if I had bothered to register at the time of purchase I guess we've had these for longer than three years. They came via an e-bay reseller that's for sure.
A handy piece of kit nonetheless for the weighing of bicycle parts and the like with an accuracy of plus or minus 5 to ten grams or so depending on how heavy the object is.
I'm alive to the ridicule of measuring such such stuff when the rider weighs in at 85 kilos but hey.
The Eastman Kodak Studio Scale. I refinished the wood with shellac to be period appropriate using real shellac flakes and alcohol. The weights were perfect per my digital scale.
Well, here's a first look at the ICG Yard on my HO Dixon, IL, layout. No scenery yet, but some of the major structures set in place. And, yes, the track is nailed directly to the plywood with no cork/foam roadbed underneath since the ICG yard perpetually looked like it was sinking into the mud and weeds. Tracks (from left to right), lead to the town track, the ICG coop track, house track, middle track, main, Mor-Milk spur.

My friend from Jersey meets me this evening & we have dinner and catch up.. He is what one may call an "outlaw" trucker.. A couple log books, dodges scales, runs coast to coast damn near non stop & been doing it for years.. He taught me how to truck actually, I ran with him for a couple years & until I had enough of running like that. I remember calling him one night telling him I was tired & was pulling over, I wasn't gonna make that load on time.. His response was " if you don't think about being tired you won't get tired".. I laughed & pulled the brakes & said I'll talk to ya in the morning.. I had a ton of fun trucking with him & his brothers but I don't miss that style of running at all.. We still joke about that til this day years later.. Lol he said hey I have a truck that needs a driver this evening, I said no thanks but I'll let you know if I run across someone lol.. Jersey to Cali, reload out of Salinas & back to Hunts Point every week like clock work.
