"Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead to the other side while he would send the crowds away. After sending the crowds away he went up into the hills by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone, while the boat, by now far out on the lake, was battling with a heavy sea, for there was a head-wind. Jesus put out his hand at once and held him. ‘Man of little faith,’ he said ‘why did you doubt?’ And as they got into the boat the wind dropped. The men in the boat bowed down before him and said, ‘Truly, you are the Son of God.’
Having made the crossing, they came to land at Gennesaret. When the local people recognised him they spread the news through the whole neighbourhood and took all that were sick to him, begging him just to let them touch the fringe of his cloak. And all those who touched it were completely cured."

I photographed these fish at the Monterey Bay Aquarium on a visit there with my kids back in 2007.
Well now… what do you think of these fine monkey puzzle trees, more than 80 years old, in Teddington? They’re pretty fine specimens, wouldn’t you say?
So would I. But guess what? A local man, whose flat overlooks them, wants to have them cut down to make way for… a couple of car parking spaces! No, really.
Last week, at 1.30 in the afternoon, the Teddington Society (of which I'm a member) were alerted to the imminent threat of these trees being felled. But thanks to a flurry of emails and phone calls, and very swift action by the Society and the London Borough of Richmond Council, within six hours a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) had been drafted, issued and applied to these lovely unusual trees.
“Forty years ago”, one of my neighbours told me, “I walked my kids past these trees every morning on our way to school. Of course they must be saved.”
The TPO declares that no person shall “cut down, top, lop, uproot, wilfully damage or wilfully destroy; or cause or permit the cutting down, topping, lopping, uprooting, wilful damage or wilful destruction of any tree specified” in the Order.
So the trees are safe, at least for now. But absurdly, what with the British regard for 'fair play' and all that, Richmond Council is open to objections. So we’re watching like hawks – and meanwhile the Teddington Society has warned all local tree surgeons not to touch these gloriously well-established specimens of Araucaria araucana.

had the pleasure of seeing the bridge. and alcatraz. and a few other pretty awesome spots in northern california earlier this week... hope to get back there again one day when i'm not working... to really "see" them up close and personal.

Not too many shots of me falling to my death on my own photostream (this implies that there might be photos of me falling to my death on other photostreams, but not on mine) so consider yourself lucky to witness this. Taken at one of the main lookout points at the top of the Dead Man's Cat Walk hike. You may think it's all fun and games but if you're not careful you could actually slip off of this and fall pretty far.
I have been thinking about going back to Yosemite to see the Firefalls again in mid February. It just happened that I remembered this photo I took on the street of Berkeley earlier last year. What was he thinking? Save the park??
These mud daubers eat spiders. Some even specialize in Black Widows. They DO NOT bother humans. Don't disturb their nests. They are helping you out.

Perhaps one can notice the difference between these two recent Tulsa shots and the preceding New Jersey shots. This is actually a different image than the black and white. I shot this one a little more straight on and I was able to 'correct' it enough to make the lines pretty straight. Why I cropped the bottom of the black and white.

Menhaden (also called Pogie or Bunker) were in large tight bait-balls off the Nauset Beach shore this past Sunday. As the tide went out, the Striped Bass ambushed the fish along the sandbars, forcing many of them to choose between death by stranding or death by being eaten!
People on the beach rushed to throw them back into the sea as they leaped out of the waves by the hundreds. (Most didn't even realize they were throwing the fish back into the mouths of waiting hungry stripers!)

esse esmalte pode ser da coleção da Nicki, mas só me lembra essa música dos Hanson que foi uma modinha da mulesta há um tempo atrás e eu não sei porque lembro dessa bagaça '-'
Save me também é uma música da Nicki, mas eu só conheço as músicas mais famosas dela, porque apareciam no tvz no tempo que eu assistia
Enfim, esse esmalte é muito drag, mas esses fiapinhos (azuis e holos) dele levantam e arranharam meu rosto, arranquei uns que se rebelaram mas ficou tudo de boa.
Ah sim, dia 30 minha caixa finalmente se mexeu, mas ontem ela não apareceu ;-;
daqui pra sexta deve chegar (eu espero¬¬)
