Making the effort to drive to Niagara Falls for a winter photo outing can truly be an exercise in determination. It's all part of being Canadian. However, that little bit of patriotic bravado aside, a tilting LCD monitor can really save the day.

Gemini Springs is a park centered around its namesake spring in Debary, FL, just on the edge of the St. Johns River in Volusia County, FL. It recently came to light that land surrounding this spring which was given to the city of Debary as conservation land to ensure the continuance of flow at Gemini Springs (which was open to swimming in the nineties but had to close due to its reduced flow leading to high levels of bacteria) has been slated for construction of a housing development, which while not occupying and destroying Gemini Springs directly would such negatively affect the springshed as to perhaps fatally damage the spring over time. Centerpiece to this plan is a St. Johns Water Management District employee who has arranged for his private company to receive large payments while being employed to help orchestra this process in an obvious conflict of interest and corruption. Florida scarcely needs yet another housing community indistinguishable for all the rest and taking more and more middle class home buyers away from small towns, and irrevocably altering the environment while doing so is even more of a travesty.
Nice to start off "Arachtober" October with the first of some saved shots from the year...... it was hard to save any though so I will have to get out there and find some more!
I went to see this awesome new place where you can go trick or treat, but I fell in a huge hole! Then I got lost trying to find my way out and all the time some giant spiders were following and attacking me, it was all omgomg!

Alco 846 has been saved at the moment as a source of spare parts for 843 which is currently under restoration by the Pichi Richi Railway at Quorn. 846 last worked on the Port Lincoln division and is photographed inside Pichi Richi Railways Quorn Workshops on 26-3-22

Collect the whole set. In St. Andrews, there are probably more whale watching companies than there are whales to watch. lol I looked at the charming front of this building, and thought, well, you just saved me a few hundred bucks, 'cause, I see a whale right there. Might even be a right whale right there. I dunno.
