1.365: Embarking on another year, I can only hope to save face, humbly without pretense. A year of the serious, a year of the mischievous, a year of new beginnings.
Detail of Victorian window in St James's church, Southrepps, in memory of several members of the Carter family. Not quite sure where the artist picked up the design for the extraordinary boat ; it certainly doesn't resemble any that would have been found at the time in Galillee ; more a kind of truncated Viking longship.
It works well enough. A little surgery on the undercarriage, and the turtle now has a tail, and looks a little more turtle-y, although not very undersea turtle-y. I was pleased with how this one came out, overall. The head and tail are the parts that really work - the feet look more sea-turtle-y, which is wrong for the shell.
The top part of the shell is one of those capsules you get things out of gumball machines in. (I used the clear part to make diving helmets.)
(This one may not go into the final entry.)
