Ruth had roasted rabbit, whereas I opted for game sausages. Both mains were delicious, but the sides were a mixed bag. The gingered turnips were fantastic, Ruth's spelt was fine if bland, and the saurkraut was quite good. However, the berries were way too tart, and the "lovely onion jam" was anything but.
Oh, and we shared a delicious starter of baked herb cheese and nut bread
Back when mom made it it was a lot more pepper centric than I've seen it 'round these parts. Far as I'm concerned, that's the way it should be. Sometimes we would have it on macaroni, but mostly it would go on polenta or get tossed with saurkraut...

A New Year's tradition. I very seldom make saurkraut throughout the year because then it becomes even more of a special treat on New Year's day, when I then proceed to gorge myself.

We had awesome vegan kielbasas and saurkraut at World Sausage on Market Street, with Belgian beer and chips. Great prices, separate grill for the vegans, and soy mayo, too! Oh, and a good view.

Delicious! (from Native Foods)
Long angle on the Suasage Plate from Trailhead Brewery. A selection of three types of sausage, a couple of cheese slices, rye bread, saurkraut, and potato salad. One of my faves from there.

We went to Kayla's graduation party today (Chris is my cousin Alan's gf, Kayla's her daughter). It was pretty cool. It was haiwiian themed. There were flowers everywhere, and live fish swimming around in decoration glasses. The party was outside. The food was delicious. There were meatballs, taco salad, saurkraut, warm goolash, and many other things. I had some taco salad, goolash, and a couple meatballs.

It's my 5th Rock City barn so far on this trip. This one looks like it won't be standing much longer. We passed it on our way back to Helen. It was an exhausting ride. Sid kept us safe with his riding skill and watchful eye.
We walked to a restaurant where we had bratwurst, knockwurst, saurkraut and German potato salad with German beer. I'm exhausted and heading for bed (yawn).
