"Deep Fried Twinkies"..... just the thought of eating one almost makes my heart skip a beat!
Here on the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk in Santa Cruz, California, one can indulge in almost any kind of junk food. This high-calorie rendition of the notorious snack cake was first invented in a Brooklyn restaurant by Rocky Mullen and his brother, Clint. And, the Twinkie, itself, was first developed by Jimmy Dewar, manager of a bakery near Chicago in 1930. Originally the cakes were filled with a creamy banana center but, during WWII, a banana shortage forced Hostess, the manufacturer, to change to the vanilla cream still used today.

This photo was so awesome that we paid the however-many-dollars to buy it. It's one hell of a roller coaster. I like the old-fashioned, bone-jarring type of roller coaster, so this one was right up my alley.
Did I ever mention how much I adored my Polaroid i-Zone camera? That thing was awesome. The last time I shot with it was 2006. I have a packet of unopened film, but there's no way that it's any good at all.
I recently found a box of my i-Zone shots and it's funny to look at them. Might be more scans of these in the future. They're so tiny and cute!
From last year... just came across it. The hanging ride at the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz, California. Just love all the lines.
The main hill on this roller coaster is 70 feet tall. The Giant Dipper first opened in 1924, and is a National Historic Landmark.
