They were OK. Tasted like funnel cakes, just squishier. I'd rather have a real funnel cake.

This was one of my favorite things at the arcade when I was a kid; I'd forgotten it existed until I came across it in a dusty corner.

Other photo sets from a gorgeous almost-summer day in Santa Cruz:

Vintage video games and spooky fortune tellers at the arcade

Breathtaking 060430 Natural Bridges state beach

Twirling, swirling Salsa by the Sea

A diner, signs, some wildlife, and us elsewhere around Santa Cruz

A 'gargoyle' that's not used as a waterspout is called a 'grotesque'. These grotesques, overlook passers-by at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk amusement park in Santa Cruz, California. Generally meant to scare off and protect people from any evil or harmful spirits, I suspect that those entering the "Fright Walk", just below, can feel a little more at ease.

Last night I went to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk with Perry-K and Upshift. I know this is a cliche shot, but I had to do it.

Took the Pacific Big Trees Railroad from Roaring Camp to the Beach.
