If time could be measured by one grain of sand or particle of cosmic dust at a time....and we are living upon only one of millions of inhabitable worlds...how old, then, is the universe.....and how old is our race? Are we truly from Earth or is it yet another temporary home, a stepping stone where we pause for a time while we learn and grow.....to progress, and someday join our wise elder brothers and sisters somewhere out there amongst the stars and dust of creation. WE are each just a grain of sand... nothing more than a speck in the endless vasness of the expanse. However, together we make up one world of many and our potential is nearly limtless, increasing as we learn.

Over 60 local, interstate and international artists will transform Perth's most popular beach into a stunning sculpture park overlooking the Indian Ocean.
The fifth annual Sculpture by the Sea will be staged on Cottesloe Beach from 5 - 24 March 2009.
So I went and saw the sculptures two weeks ago, but I went on a hot Sunday so the beach was completely packed. And I forgot to take my camera. So a friend and I went down yesterday evening (getting the last hour of sunlight) to get some snaps. I've just uploaded photos of my favourite sculptures. :)

For the original description of the project please see image number 1, or the notes to the A380 set.
I may return to this project sooner or later. I haven't yet photographed (didn't dare, in fact) the travellers' site in the woodland near the Haldon Hills. Perhaps I'll get the courage one day when I've sorted out my feelings about it. (I know it makes me angry, but I don't have any alternative solution.) And I haven't captured the glorious view to Dartmoor from the highest point in the road near Haldon (the one that makes me silently say "Ah I'm back home" whenever I've been away); mainly this is because it seems to be impossible to stop anywhere to photograph it. I think I've said enough for now and will hopefully post some "let's pretend everything's just fine with our world" landscapes fairly soon. It's been refreshing to post images of the world the way it is rather than how we so often pretend it to be, and I've discovered some dangerously exciting new locations! So that's enough from this project for the moment. Thanks for all the thoughtful comments.
