'Natural - Cockle & Scallop' is made from the shell of sea crustations. We use shell from a locally sourced seafood supplier in the seaside town of Whitstable in Kent in England. The shells go through a thorough treatment process where they are cleaned and broken down into the correct size. The shell is then mixed with a two pack epoxy resin and non absorbant fine powder. The Cockle & Scallop mix is traditionally hand troweled to a depth of approx 6-10mm and is ground to a fine polish using diamond grinding blades which are fed by a constant feed of recycled water. The floor has a stunningly natural seamless aesthetic and is very hard wearing whilst being completely smooth to the touch and under foot. Ttura 'Natural - Cockle & Scallop' is naturally slip resistant and is available in any choice of RAL or BS 4800 background resin colour.
This 5-mm-wide sample holder features a flat platform for attaching a sample of material, surrounded by three suspended chip sensors that are connected via gold wires to the sample. The sensors include one heater (white in appearance) to supply heat to the sample, and two thermometers (gold in appearance) to measure that heat as it travels through the sample. This sample holder was designed and assembled by Shermane Benjamin.
