Late in the afternoon at Sumner beach September 16, 2015 Christchurch New Zealand.

Sumner is a coastal seaside suburb of Christchurch. On 22 February 2011, Sumner was hit by the Christchurch earthquake, which destroyed or made uninhabitable a large number of the local houses and commercial buildings. On 13 June the same year, Sumner was hit by another earthquake of almost the same magnitude as the February event. These two earthquakes caused many of Sumner's iconic cliffs to collapse, and many areas to be cordoned off with both traditional fences and, more interestingly, shipping containers.

Jumper and Prey.....

Same with Daisy, I just can't bring myself to change Melody's eye chips. They're not as sparkly or deep as Daisy's but I love them just as much!

same as before only different

Same location as my upload before, only one hour earlier, before sunset and the low-tide coming in ...

Sometimes the bands come in handy. Turns out that this is the same one that I posted before. Probably there's only one of them in the walk-through hummingbird aviary. A Google search for this species reveals my previous post as the #2 entry, which is pretty cool, and also a bunch of gallery links to it. Some people think these gallery links are stealing their images, but I don't consider them thievery, because they always give me credit for the photo. I'm just glad that people enjoy my work.

Looks like I need to go back and post to the groups that I was invited to on that shot. I don't want people to think that I didn't appreciate their invites, because I really do! It's just that I get busy from time to time and then forget to go back and catch up. I'm sure that most of you have the same issue.

Designed by John Ravenscroft the Chimaera is a two seat Roadster, the car uses the same backbone chassis as the Griffiths and used the same derivatives of the Rover V8 engines of 4, 4.3, 4.5 and 5 litre. The Chimaera was intended as the long distance tourer of the range, and as such is longer, more spacious and slightly softer sprung than its sister cars.

The Chimaera was originally intended to replace the Griffith but sufficient demand for both of the models led TVR continuing them, the Chimaera was given a mid-life facelit for 1996 updates, included a rear bumper shared with the Cerbera, push button doors with the buttons located under the wing mirrors, a boot lid shared with the Cerbera and the replacement of the front mesh grille with a horizontal bar. The GKN differential was also replaced by a BTR unit. a 4.5 litre was included in the line up from 1997

I had taken a photo of this same area over two years ago. Back then I was using my Motorola Moto g fast phone, which had an ultra-wide lens. This new phone is a Samsung, and I think it makes everything look better. I think the sensor is greatly improved; the exposure latitude seems to be better than the Moto g fast phone.

Anyway, I was back at USC's medical school, as the new fall semester has begun and I am back doing part-time work as a proctor.

The bluff rises perhaps 80 to 100 feet above the Kickapoo here.

The sun never shines in on this spot so it is a great area for ice falls to develop.

please note I am not the artist of this work, merely the photographer.

Having worked the 13.12 from Birmingham New Street to Rugeley Trent Valley, 153334 is now seen at Walsall leading 170511 back to Birmingham with the 14.45 departure.

Same shoes as outfit 1, but they are the highlight.

CN L517 pulls into Markham Yard located in Homewood, Illinois. While all three of these locomotives are SD40-2's, each one is different. 5386 has a "standard" cab while the two trailing units have Canadian wide cabs. And while the 5281 and 5328 are technically classified as SD40-2W's, the 5281 still wears CN's Zebra scheme while 5328 was recently (when this photo was taken) repainted into the CN.ca scheme. In addition, 5281 does not have dynamic breaks while 5328 does. This goes to show just how much variety there is in CN's vast fleet of older 40 series locomotives.

A bit later in the day upon my return to the mud flats, the area was hosting some different occupants. This photo was taken looking east in the same area. A couple of alligators had claimed the area as their own and were soaking up the sun. The nearest alligator is likely a mature female in the seven-foot range. The one behind her is about nine feet in length. This is the same area that was occupied by the two Ibis and the Snowy that I posted yesterday. They were not the most cooperative pair of gators and slid into the water before I could get closer. I didn’t notice it when I was taking the capture, but the one in the background appears to have an injury just in back of his eye. Not enough dof to confirm that injury as I was focused on the one that was nearer to me.

Just a bit of a footnote. I was reluctant to post large photo after a company from China stole a number of my photos and had them posted one of their websites. I have started posting full size photos of some shots so that people can see a bit more detail in the alligators. As Sue noted, you can click on the large version to see the scales and the eye on this particular gator.

I’m still running behind as I has some business to take care of today but will get to everyone’s photos directly. Have a wonderful weekend.
