Developed in classic Caffenol C-M except except that I put a little Kbr in hopes of lessening fogging. That's got to be a whole new formula with a name of its own. 14 minutes development, 1 minute initial constant inversion; then one inversion twice a minute every minute thereafter.
This pile of flattened, rusted-out tin cans was south of Hunt Road. Where they came from and how they got here remains a mystery.

I start with whatever the base "new" look for whatever it is would be. In this case I'm going for a sort of galvanized steel look. I start with a medium gray mixed with baking soda and talc to give it some body and texture.
Every day in June 08, we walked past a metal retaining wall on part of the beach at Wildwood, New Jersey and each time I photographed part of it. This is one of that series of photographs which show what colours and beauty there can be in a rusting piece of metal.
One of my garden ornaments. I love the little ladybug. I also kind of like the rusty look to it now.
Day twenty-eight. Rust
I actually didn't do much to this picture - the rust was that vivid, and complete, on the back of this old Volvo wreck.
Probably should have straightened this shot out, though.

Here's the rapidly decaying Spring Hill Bridge, between Wall and Monroeville, PA., over the ConRail tracks and Turlte Creek. Last week one of the newest bridges in town, the Birmingham Bridge from Oakland to the Southside, had a girder slip almost 8" vertically. ( www.post-gazette.com/pg/08040/856121-53.stm ) America's infrastructure is rotting away, while we spend 18 million dollars AN HOUR maintaining an occupation army in Iraq. Me thinks that the $$$ could be put to better uses...
