This Austin Taxi is likely to have been registered in either Kent or Sussex. During the ten years they were manufactured, they became very common. They had no passenger door; instead a box for the tools was contained there. Sadly this example has no seats or steering wheel.
This old rattletrap must be the pride of Elkhart County, Indiana. I can't even begin to guess the make and model.

In present-day Swansea, with its population of 0, one might never know that this was once a booming mining town with its own school, store, hospital, railroad, and more. This rusting vehicle (or remnant thereof) stands as silent witness to the history of its own time. If only it could tell us what it has seen!

Brutal Rust has a product that creates a real rust surface from a special paint and activator. In this case, the pipes are actually PVC pipes painted with the stuff. Most of the other surfaces are also painted with Brutal Rust.

Screen Printed and monoprinted, with natural indigo mixed with gum tragacanth as the binder. The piece was then rust dyed using old farm machine parts. Tannin dyed, a natural dye process, cotton fabric.

I always thought rust was a bad thing - until I got into photography, and especially HDR photography. It used to be an eyesore to me, and now it is a thing of beauty. Funny how your perspective changes when you view things through a lens. This is an old tank on the grounds of the old Pearl Brewery in San Antonio. I was there a few months back and had just a short while to wander around and snap a few shots. That area of San Antonio has a lot of interesting photographic possibilities - hopefully I can get back down there and do it justice!
