i was recently reading a magazine and in it had a photography competition, the subject was landscapes that have been touched by man, now i,m not one for entering comps but i thought it was an interesting subject to have a go at..
we cant shoot seascapes all the time and i kind of like a little challenge every now and then..
Rusted Gate Handle. I thought the rust colors with the shadows of the metal were so interesting. Asolo, Italy. Color photography by Donna Corless.
I saw the rusting vehicle while driving a Scioto County, Ohio road. It appears to be a General Motors car of 1950's vintage, but I don't recognize which make. I trust an expert will make an ID.
My car is limping, Dolores Haze,
And the last long lap is the hardest,
And I shall be dumped where the weed decays,
And the rest is rust and stardust.
~ Vladimir Nabokov
I don't know why, but this old Jeep grabbed my attention -- something about the classic design combined with the rust and yes, the slight dent in the front bumper. A little worse for wear, but hopefully I'll look as good when I have a few more miles! :-)
The ideal is to find things that have rusted naturally, but that’s not always possible. I decided to try a new rust effect product on some items laying around the house, to see what would happen. As you can see this rust effect product works very well on plastic, wood or even glass. Also possible to paint with it. Have a good fun. It’s a beautiful day in NYC today. I’ve got the day off and I spent a little time in the backyard just enjoying the weather. This shot was taken while relaxing out back.
