We spotted this ruby-throated hummingbird taking a break in a tree while keeping close watch on a nearby hummingbird feeder.

This location opened in fall 2001 and closed in March 2020. The building was demolished in April 2022 and a Raising Cane's was built on site, which opened on December 15th, 2022.
This ruby-throated hummingbird was fiercely guarding the hummingbird feeder we set up at out camp site. I'm afraid she was probably devastated when we left.

The metal chromium impurities inside the ruby causes the red colour.

This location was built and opened in 2004 and closed in August 2016. It became a Red Crab Juicy Seafood on March 9th, 2020.
The restaurant was built on site of what was once Langley Circle Shell. It became Mercury Yamaha in May 1981, Thompson Ford in August 1987 and Merita Bakery Thrift Store on August 12th, 1991.

The Port of San Francisco Pier 27 hosts the Ruby Princess for a few nights.
The Ruby Princess is owned and operated by Princess Cruises, was built in 2008 in Trieste, Italy; holds just over 3,000 passengers; can cruise at 26 MPH and calls home port as Hamilton in Bermuda.
As of the posting of these photos, the ship is docked in Victoria, Canada., the end point of its Los Angeles, CA., to Vancouver trip.
