"Ruby-throated Hummingbirds are bright emerald or golden-green on the back and crown, with gray-white underparts. Males have a brilliant iridescent red throat that looks dark when it’s not in good light." Cornell
Ruby resides on my refrigerator. She is a magnet.....for attention!
She came with a bikini, and some type of pajama/summer outfit.
She loves her new golfing clothes. I told her not to accept any text messages from a man named Tiger!

Have been after one with his crown up for a long while. A slow morning with the camera but really happy to get this guy. Heading to Ohio on Friday for some warblers. Fingers crossed!

Ruby-throated hummingbird drinks from a feeder.
Strobist: Three 580EXII on stands surrounding the feeder at 1/64 -1/3 at around 10" away. Waited until the ambient dropped well below the flash exposure, 1/250 @ f/11, ISO 100 to knock the background to black. This left me about 10 minutes to shoot, triggering with Pocket Wizards.

Good ol' Ruby Tuesday. Did you know her middle name was Facedown? Me neither.
The older lady coming up on the right was trying to stop her husband, telling him - "Stop! They're trying to take a picture." Then when I laid down, she simply said, "Oh dear". They looked at me kind of funny when I jumped up and went to my truck. Happy Face Down Tuesday!

Ruby Court is a development of small office units at the edge of Downtown Micropolis. It gets its name from the dark red glass sculpture which adorns the courtyard in the middle of the buildings. Ref: D1739-16
Today is the first time I've seen a hummingbird at my new feeder I'd put out June 20. He came back for a few visits. I hope to get some much better shots in the future!
