Took full advantage of a gorgeous November afternoon and went for a photo walk along 124th street and then to Jasper Avenue. The sun and clouds provided a beautiful background for the buildings I photographed.

I had a Roxy day today. She had had four jabs yesterday and a haircut . . . she says 'sorry' quite a lot and mostly (in fact . . . always, because an eighteen month baby doesn't really have anything to be sorry for) out of context. When the nurse gave her 4 injections and she had stopped crying, apparently she started saying 'sorry' to the nurse! I am still trying to teach her 'warm' as the in between of cold and hot. She is very receptive to words and concepts . . . a joy to be with!
Catching up is going slowly as i'm tired . . .

Roxy was seven on Monday and we had the second of her three celebrations. The first took place over half term when 5 families went camping which included 3 boys from Roxy’s class at school, Her actual birthday was the second with us and the third is on Friday after school when a few girls are coming to tea. How wise of Abby to have the boy party while camping!

It had been a long day but Roxy was kind enough to indulge me for a couple of snapshots in our garden.
Autumn shows at the Roxy in downtown Clarksville, a theatre that opened in 1947 after a 1945-fire destroyed the Lillian Theatre that had resided on this corner since 1913. I don't recall ever having seen any of the neon lighting working except that around the marquee and finally became curious Friday evening (11-1-2013) and gave them a call after I finished shooting. The vertical sign is apparently severely rotted and there aren't any plans to repair it or any of the lighting due to the expense. I've taken some artistic license (and we use that term loosely! lol) to relight the neon after inquiring about the colors (he said he wasn't certain about the color arrangement without looking at records, thus I've taken a pseudo-educated guess). Now I need to make an eye-appointment and see about getting rid of the perpetual test-pattern floating before me... {chuckle} ;)

we had a facetime session with the family yesterday, having seen Max and Jane briefly outside their place earlier. So all in all as good as it gets at the moment.
The man with the long legs in brown trousers is daddy. And he has flowers in his left hand to give to mummy. He shares his heart with mummy, as they hold their joint heart between them! Stan is in the foreground! Anyone following Roxy's art will see that arms are becoming fashionable!
Surprisingly, both the neon signage and handpainted advertising that decorate Coleman’s Roxy Theatre are holding up pretty well.

the girls went to see Frozen 2 on Sunday and Roxy has been in a whirlwind ever since!

Back from my Roxy day followed by a visit from Max, a little cooking towards the meal tomorrow evening . . . and a bad night last night - too hot to sleep properly - and I am shattered. Will visit one or two of your streams and then will be back on Saturday. Echoing the BBC from ages past . . . . apologies for the interruption in service!

This is Roxy, she is a Boxer Rottweiler mix. Roxy is 11 years old and has had ACL repair and has severe arthritis of both hips. She is a husky 113 pounds. She is still getting acquainted with her large Big Barker bed. I know she will love it!
Modeling her new winter clothes Roxy shows us it is possible to be both stylish and warm this season.
Roxy and that crazy blue ball that's not actually blue, more like turquoise, that I've never been able to match the colour accurately. Oh well.

It wasn't until I was looking through the fuzzy pictures from facetime yesterday that it hit me how sad I feel. I haven't seen the Bears (apart from Ben on a flypast before Christmas) since September. Yesterday the lapatop was set up in Roxy's bedroom and Roxy showed me different things, was in turn a ballerina and horse rider . . .
Abby appeared with costumes she had been making and she and Roxy modelled them . . .
