Roof detail at the Erwang Temple complex outside Dujiangyan in Sichuan.
The Erwang, or Two Kings, Temple is another masterpiece from the Qing Dynasty's late 17th/18th Centyury golden age. Located on the banks of the Minjiang River near the historic ancient irrigation system, this vast complex covers more than a hectare.
Although the current temple complex was rebuilt in the Qing Era, locals have been commemorating Li Bing and his son, who are said to have built the irrigation system, on this site for more than 2,000 years.
