Most rooftops in marrakech are for relaxing and to catch a little breeze in the hot summer months. Most restaurants and cafe's have a rooftop for the view and the breeze.
View from II Duomo, Florence
Florence is such a compact city with narrow streets and alleyways there is no space for domestic gardens, but look across the rooftops...

A test shot from the century-old 1A Autographic Kodak Junior. From the roof, because, why not? I’m not sure if that’s a light leak in the upper right, or damage to the old roll I had to pull from a jammed Hasselblad back a year or so ago(thought it was a roll of 400 Delta, but, surprise, after shooting, it was 100). Five shots per roll of 120, four of them pretty good (one accidental double exposure). A little more tweaking and this will be a nice landscape camera. Aperture on the camera set at No. 8 (which is f11.3) at 1/100. I held a yellow filter in front of the lens.
Not the customary view of the hotel at Portmeirion, taken from winding track up into Y Gwyllt.
Interesting roof and chimney pots.
Alexandria, Egypt
Rooftop living looking out from the hotel dining terrace and restaurant.
A bit less crowded than Cairo and no where near as dusty, Alexandria is a coastal city with the beauty of the sea and the massive and ancient Citadel, a new museum dedicated to Cleopatra and the findings from her palace in ruins, beneath the sea. Much to see and many things not retrieved from below the water of the port...a shame.
The NYC heritage unit leads 65K west through Whiting, IN. While this isn't quite the rooftop view at Wrigley Field, this provides a nice view of the lake.
The shot was taken from my rooftop, in a sunny day with full of cumulus clouds overcasting sky. Taken with Canon 50D and 17-85 IS USM.
Until now, I watched rooftops as rooftops, but as I watch more and more rooftops (on my photos) they are still just rooftops, but I see them better, rooftops.

strobist info: Elinchrom ECO Ringflash on a Ranger Quadra on-axis. Pocketwizard MiniTT1 and FlexTT5 used to trigger on hypersync.
A SA-1 Siren painted in racing colors and featuring wheeled Movement Attachments is configured for a rooftop racing event.
Flying Fedora shot on the roof of the Packard plant in Detroit. I've had this shot on my mind for some time now. View large, dammit.
Did I mention I'm afraid of heights?
