Mentmore Bridge (previously known as Bridego Bridge and then Train Robbers' bridge). This was the scene of the robbery. I am about 1 month early for the 61st anniversary. Came here geocaching and decided to make a composite with an image from 1963 and an image of my car parked up
The south walls of Chenies Manor House are mostly without windows. It's believed that this was due to avoidance of increases in window tax - known at the time as "daylight robbery".

This is my 5th Red Dead Redemption 2 MOC for our collaboration. I liked the robbery mission a lot so I want to build that scene.
I hope you like it, I would be pleased to get feedback.
Greetings Kevin
and many thanks to @Tuxedo Greedo and -Balbo- for some useful advices and tips.
Jay could hear sirens outside the bank as police arrived on the scene. With The Flash's help, the whole gang was in cuffs and waiting for their ride to the station.
"Alright gentlemen, how's about we see who's behind these terrible robberies!" The Flash said proudly as his enemy sat bickering on the floor. Removing The Rival's mask, officers of the Keystone police force gasped!
"Holy smokes! It's Dr Clariss, the world renowned chemist!" One of the coppers said in surprise.
"Ready to talk now, chum?" Jay pestered to Dr Clariss.
"Alright, alright! I confess!" The Rival's head hung with shame, "I wanted to replicate the 'hard water' formula that gave The Flash his speed to increase my own, but my first attempt did but the opposite! I needed money for my research!"
"So robbing banks was the best idea you could come up with, Mister Clariss?” Another officer asked.
"Sure! And I would have gotten away with it too it it wasn't for The Flash meddling with my plans!" Clariss cursed, glaring at Jay from over his shoulder
"Well friend, you'll have plenty of time to study in the cell of Keystone's county jail!" With a slap on the back of the doctor, Jay and the officers laughed as Clariss was picked up off the ground and carried out to the paddy wagon.
"One day Flash!” Clariss shouted, “I will be the fastest man alive! Just you wait! You'll see!" The Rival's voice faded as he was carried off to prison!

Found on the Valley Bank in Kalispell, Montana. There were a few others of these about but this was the best.
There have been a recent chain of robbery's in local businesses and shops on Keystone's side of the river. Being a part of the CCPD Barry has no trouble seeing the damage this does to the owners of these small business. Events like this are leaving them running scared! Residents of the surrounding areas claim to have seen a hooded figure entering and exiting the locations of the robbery's, with nearly all witnesses stating they had heard a 'terrible shrieking' noise from the crimes scenes before seeing an assailant flee the area. Perhaps The Flash can investigate....

Hartley Rathaway makes his debut appearance in my DC Lego-verse! Yay Pied Piper! :P
Such an awesome character to finally have built to rival The Flash! The design of the fig was based primarily off of his New 52 appearances, with a hint of my own tweaking. Still wish I owned some rat's though... (I don't own a single one, crazy) It would have really rounded out this build for me.
Another wise, what do you guys think? Keep in tune tomorrow, as we get to part 2! :)
The young man looks up at his new friend before motioning to the bank absently commenting "Ready? We've been planning for weeks now."
The larger man nods, rolling his eyes as he talks "Yea, yea, I know, I know. Don't shoot anyone unless I have to."
Satisfied, the younger man nods and they head to the pizza place nearby to wait.
Shortly before opening, a redhead waits outside the bank. The larger man absently comments "She's cute."
"Focus!" The other one snaps, tossing him some rope. "Deal with her and I'll take care of the manager."
Finally getting back to macro!

BOOOP BOOOOOPPP the food truck pulls away from the jewellery store at maximum speed. Molly runs along side and leaps onto the barrelling truck pulling her uzi out from behind her back ready for action as sirens fill the air.
Epi laughs maniacally surfing the rooftop not even reaching for his AK-47, he stomps his foot above Flit driving, "get a move on, they're swarming us!".
She peels down the alley fleeing through the back roads and into the flooded streets and covering the pursuing police with mud.
"I know you guys love rolling in the mudd!!!" she mocks as they fly toward Main Street.

Inspired by my scary encounter last week... I was scammed (more like daylight robbery) by a lady in the car park. I was coming in to work that morning, parked my car and this lady appeared out of nowhere and asked me for help. She was short of money for medicine, was heading to the hospital... I don't know why I agreed to help her but I did, gave her the money but then she demanded more... I was shocked and said that's all I have...
She kept on insisting for me to pay by card and follow her... until I showed her my wallet (which was really empty) and then she decided to leave. She disappeared so fast! After I got down from my car only I realised that I was scammed... Sigh.
I saw the woman again a couple of days later she was still trying to scam another lady but that lady scolded her. She quickly turned around and went away. As she turned around, her sharp eyes saw me... I pretended not to recognise her and went on my way. That encounter left me feeling shaken and uneasy... now that she is still hanging around the building. Will need to be more careful next time...

I was wondering why the bird feeder was going empty so fast, until I saw this. I finally got my camera back after sending it away to have the shutter replaced. I was without it for approximately 1 month.
While Rockstar is out doing pizza deliveries on the scooter. Mara and her employee Hector are back at the City Pizza when suddenly two men, both clothed in black step in side.
The men appear to be Don and noD, two criminals who are also identical twin brothers, who serve Mr. Pink as low class henchmen.
They dress the same and think like a hive mind adressing themselves as We.
They tend to finish of each other sentences and feel the same pain.
They also wear matching gauntlets that shoot electrical charges.
One of them, while pointing his gauntlet at Mara's face, treatning to shoot her, demands that she gives them all of her earnings as a "protection fee" so that she and her family will be under the protection of Mr. Pink and his criminal organisation.
Mara knows that this protection fee is nothing more than a bunch of lies as Mr. Pink's henchmen will continue to come back and demand more money until one day you simply disappear or worse...
She fears for Hector as he is clearly overcome by fear and wants to flee the scene.
Knowing her little son Danny is upstairs playing, she reluctantly shows them the safe where all of her life earnings are kept...
It all started off with a bank robbery on August 3rd 2018. Professionals, minimal evidence, nobody injured other than a broken nose, and then they dissapeared like ghosts. Suddenly we start hearing whispers that there's a terror cell that's been activated somewhere in the US. We were vigilant but somehow they slipped through the cracks. A bombing at a coffee shop in New Jersey, less than three hundred miles from the bank robbery. Only an eight hour drive, coincidence? Pennsylvania one week later, a gunman kills 32 at a mall, wounds another 46, escapes through an underground service tunnel. Now no doubt about it, all three events had to be linked. We worked overtime, little sleep, chasing leads, pulling in every favor the company earned on the east coast. We had mobsters, gang bangers, cops, private citizens, all looking, feeding us info. Whispers, rumors, sightings, anything they could to stay on our good side. Finally we got a break. Someone trying to purchase a batch of grenades off a motorcycle club in Brooklyn.
The leaves were starting to turn colors. It was warm in the sun and cool in the shade. An Oktoberfest block party was happening. The next target as far as we could see. We were quick, silent. Moving through the sewers. The entire cell committed to this one final devastating blow on the American psyche, then back into hiding or into the afterlife. We found them prepping in the storm channel. Sewage rushing around us, a party above, the sound of music penetrating through the grates. Nobody topside would have ever heard the sounds of our shots. Sub-guns tearing into the darkness, blood and water mixing, brass echoing off concrete. Another cell eliminated, unfortunately only a moment too late. We vowed to work harder, longer, be more vigilant. We couldn't let it happen again. It already weighed on us that this cell got so far before we caught them.

The Georgian period of architecture spanned the reigns of George I,II,III & IV over roughly the whole of the 18th Century. Among many of its classic features it is quite common to see buildings such as this and those in the previous photo with bricked up windows, as a means of avoiding higher window tax rates.
The window tax was introduced as an alternative to an income tax whereby the exact wealth of an individual or family remained relatively private.
While most families preferred to block in windows thus paying lower taxes, other more wealthy families would actually increase the number of windows, even to the extent of making false windows over brickwork, as a public display of their wealth and standing in society.
Although it is not known for certain, it is not a huge leap of imagination to understand how the phrase "daylight robbery" might have come about as more windows were blocked to reduce monies being taken by the government.

Fort Lauderdale is a city in the U.S. state of Florida, 28 miles (45 km) north of Miami. It is the county seat of Broward County. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 165,521. It is a principal city of the Miami metropolitan area, which was home to an estimated 6,012,331 people at the 2015 census.
The city is a popular tourist destination, with an average year-round temperature of 75.5 °F (24.2 °C) and 3,000 hours of sunshine per year. Greater Fort Lauderdale which takes in all of Broward County hosted 12 million visitors in 2012, including 2.8 million international visitors. The city and county in 2012 collected $43.9 million from the 5% hotel tax it charges, after hotels in the area recorded an occupancy rate for the year of 72.7 percent and an average daily rate of $114.48. The district has 561 hotels and motels comprising nearly 35,000 rooms. Forty six cruise ships sailed from Port Everglades in 2012. Greater Fort Lauderdale has over 4,000 restaurants, 63 golf courses, 12 shopping malls, 16 museums, 132 nightclubs, 278 parkland campsites, and 100 marinas housing 45,000 resident yachts.
Fort Lauderdale is named after a series of forts built by the United States during the Second Seminole War. The forts took their name from Major William Lauderdale (1782–1838), younger brother of Lieutenant Colonel James Lauderdale. William Lauderdale was the commander of the detachment of soldiers who built the first fort. However, development of the city did not begin until 50 years after the forts were abandoned at the end of the conflict. Three forts named "Fort Lauderdale" were constructed; the first was at the fork of the New River, the second at Tarpon Bend on the New River between the Colee Hammock and Rio Vista neighborhoods, and the third near the site of the Bahia Mar Marina.
The area in which the city of Fort Lauderdale would later be founded was inhabited for more than two thousand years by the Tequesta Indians. Contact with Spanish explorers in the 16th century proved disastrous for the Tequesta, as the Europeans unwittingly brought with them diseases, such as smallpox, to which the native populations possessed no resistance. For the Tequesta, disease, coupled with continuing conflict with their Calusa neighbors, contributed greatly to their decline over the next two centuries. By 1763, there were only a few Tequesta left in Florida, and most of them were evacuated to Cuba when the Spanish ceded Florida to the British in 1763, under the terms of the Treaty of Paris (1763), which ended the Seven Years' War. Although control of the area changed between Spain, United Kingdom, the United States, and the Confederate States of America, it remained largely undeveloped until the 20th century.
The Fort Lauderdale area was known as the "New River Settlement" before the 20th century. In the 1830s there were approximately 70 settlers living along the New River. William Cooley, the local Justice of the Peace, was a farmer and wrecker, who traded with the Seminole Indians. On January 6, 1836, while Cooley was leading an attempt to salvage a wrecked ship, a band of Seminoles attacked his farm, killing his wife and children, and the children's tutor. The other farms in the settlement were not attacked, but all the white residents in the area abandoned the settlement, fleeing first to the Cape Florida Lighthouse on Key Biscayne, and then to Key West.
The first United States stockade named Fort Lauderdale was built in 1838, and subsequently was a site of fighting during the Second Seminole War. The fort was abandoned in 1842, after the end of the war, and the area remained virtually unpopulated until the 1890s. It was not until Frank Stranahan arrived in the area in 1893 to operate a ferry across the New River, and the Florida East Coast Railroad's completion of a route through the area in 1896, that any organized development began. The city was incorporated in 1911, and in 1915 was designated the county seat of newly formed Broward County.
Fort Lauderdale's first major development began in the 1920s, during the Florida land boom of the 1920s. The 1926 Miami Hurricane and the Great Depression of the 1930s caused a great deal of economic dislocation. In July 1935, an African-American man named Rubin Stacy was accused of robbing a white woman at knife point. He was arrested and being transported to a Miami jail when police were run off the road by a mob. A group of 100 white men proceeded to hang Stacy from a tree near the scene of his alleged robbery. His body was riddled with some twenty bullets. The murder was subsequently used by the press in Nazi Germany to discredit US critiques of its own persecution of Jews, Communists, and Catholics.
When World War II began, Fort Lauderdale became a major US base, with a Naval Air Station to train pilots, radar operators, and fire control operators. A Coast Guard base at Port Everglades was also established.
On July 4, 1961 African Americans started a series of protests, wade-ins, at beaches that were off-limits to them, to protest "the failure of the county to build a road to the Negro beach". On July 11, 1962 a verdict by Ted Cabot went against the city's policy of racial segregation of public beaches.
Today, Fort Lauderdale is a major yachting center, one of the nation's largest tourist destinations, and the center of a metropolitan division with 1.8 million people.

I came across this scene and was expecting either an arrest or robbery around the corner.
Nope.
It was some sort of exercise class.
so last night I went to bed about 11.30pm ish and could I sleep? Nope.............my brain has gone into overdrive with ideas for photos after almost 2 months of no ideas what so ever. At 12.50am Amara woke for a pee (not that I was sleeping) so........up I get but had to dash into the living room for my notepad where I sat freezing my arse off on the stairs writing down ideas that had popped into my head. Voila - this is one of them. I could crush grapes when it happens like this which is not that often. Infact I had almost given up SP's and I'm sure every self portrait dudey goes through this process of thinking they aren't good or not photogenic enough blah blah blah!!!
Anyway the added bonus was the cat (my darling Dora) who has had a rough time of things lately. Two of her kittens were killed not long after I found homes for the other two. My intention was to keep one but unfortunately it didn't turn out that way. She has been missing for a few days or hiding in the garage and not been very sociable and when discussing her at the table Ritchie announced at lunch time that she's up the duff!!!!
