Friday afternoon, I joined a co-worker to go to the East-West Bank on Grand Avenue in downtown L.A. She was not yet familiar with the layout and she felt more comfortable if someone tagged along, preferably an older male who could be trusted, such as me.

Instead of Uber, she hired a Lyft ride to get there fast. However, when we reached the destination it turned out a robbery had just taken place, squelching my co-worker's plan to do some business at that bank. We got a lunch-to-go from a nearby Subway and took the Red Line back to work. Before we did that, we took photos of the activity there. We also got some quick video.

Hey man, can you spare some change?

Bank Robbery

Topanga Cyn @ 101 FWY

July 2009

Some lunatics robbed a bank and now a perimeter has been set up around the Citibank. Meanwhile, a ton of people are trapped trying to get off Topanga Cyn and get on with their day. BANK ROBBERS SUCK.

I finally made it onto the 101 heading south. A few miles down I see multiple LAPD vehicles with the new SWAT MCU (sadly, not pictured) haul ass past me. I think I know where they are going.

I found out later that the Topanga Cyn location was the SECOND bank hit that day and it was probably the same people who did both robberies.

Because the man without fear has a history of stealing Spider-Man villains. Plus Spidey's rouges gallery and supporting cast continue to be raided for other heroes and I don't like that.

A new specialist team cracking down on robberies and key suspects across Manchester has secured five arrests in an overnight operation.

The team – working across one of the busiest and most diverse districts in the country – will be working to bring down robbery levels, strengthen investigative outcomes, and build greater public confidence through its sustained proactive work.

In recent weeks, the team has already begun to secure results as part of their goal, including last night’s arrests.

At around 7.30pm, officers from the team stopped a 24-year-old man in the Tib Street area.

Following a search, a mobile phone – suspected of being stolen – was recovered. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods.

Officers then conducted a search of the suspect’s address in Withington, with a further quantity of suspected stolen goods recovered. This includes five high-value push bikes, 26 mobile phones, multiple tablet devices, laptops, watches, and designer clothing.

Around £15,000 in cash was additionally seized. The items will be assessed and analysed over the coming days.

As part of the work at the address, a further four men, aged between 19 and 27, were arrested on suspicion of offences including handling stolen goods, possession of criminal property, and money laundering.

Inspector Leon McLaughlin, from the newly created team, said: “This overnight work saw us achieve five arrests and seize tens of thousands of pounds worth of cash and suspected stolen goods.

“This shows how effective our proactive work can be – while it began with a stop-search, we are now launching a much wider-scale investigation into robbery and criminal goods offences.

“I have no doubt at all that we will continue to produce more successful results as the team continues to work with local neighbourhood teams ,

specialist resources, and response officers to secure arrests, charges, and more.”

Force lead for Robbery at Greater Manchester Police, Chief Superintendent Helen Critchley said: “Robbery is a crime that causes untold and lasting harm to its victims. In addition to the impact on the victims themselves these offences often happen in open and public spaces, and so affect feelings of safety in the local community.

“Within GMP, we are committed to the role of effective neighbourhood policing in providing public reassurance, preventing these offences and responding efficiently when they do.

“As part of the Neighbourhood Policing Guarantee the force has invested in the creation of a new City of Manchester robbery team, who will be tackling all aspects of robbery, including knife-enabled robbery.

“These frontline officers will provide a visible deterrent, proactively target offenders and when offences do occur, they will provide a best standard of initial investigation to maximise opportunities to bring offenders to justice."

Daylight Robbery - The Robin, Bilston - 24th November 2016

Taken when I was on the way to work - via train. The engine was still running!

There was an attempted robbery with a pellet gun on Anawana Lake Road in Monticello, Wednesday night.

Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty tells YWN Catskills, that two Orthodox women were walking on Anawana Lake Road near Walmart around 10:30PM, when they heard a noise behind them. Before they were able to turn around, one of them felt someone grabbing her pocketbook. They then witnessed a female perpetrator armed with a gun, and struggling to get the pocketbook.

In the struggle, the gun fell to the floor, and the perpetrator fled on foot towards WalMart, where she was seen getting into a small car.

Thankfully, no one was hurt – including their children who were walking with them at the time – and nothing was stolen.

The Sheriff Department responded along with Catskills Hatzolah. Chaboty tells YWN Catskills that the gun used is a pellet gun.

Deputies are investigating the incident, and are looking for a white female with brown hair and a ponytail, wearing a blue jacket with a zipper on the front.

If you have any further information that can assist this investigation, please contact the Sullivan County Sheriff Department.

The largest bank robbery in American history (in inflation-adjusted dollars), happened at this Main Street Northampton, Massachusetts location in January 1876. In a carefully planned heist, seven robbers from Brooklyn managed to steal over $1.6 million in cash, bonds and other securities (about $26 million in today's dollars) from the Northampton National Bank.

If only Northampton's most famous crime fighters had been born a century earlier! Northamptonite Kevin Eastman, creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, actually owned this former bank building at one time.

There was a bank robbery at the Wells Fargo at 5900 Airport Blvd, Austin, TX, today. I was in the neighborhood and went to see what all the hubbub was about. I took a few photos and noticed that the crime scene photographer was across the street shooting back at me. Then an undercover car pulled up behind me. They got out, asked for my ID, asked a few other questions and told me to be on my way.

Malden and several other police departments combed the area between Oak Grove and Forestdale this afternoon for a gunman who robbed a Citizens Bank branch on Main and Winter streets. The suspect fits the description given in recent robberies in Reading and Lynnfield. Two Malden schools were placed under a lockdown order during the ordeal.

According to Malden Police Lt. Tom Swanson, the suspect entered the bank sometime before 1 p.m. Thursday afternoon, approached a teller with a note demanding money. She complied, and he moved to leave the bank. When he got to the door, however, it was locked.

The gun didn't come out until the man realized he was locked in the bank. At that point, he pulled out a silver handgun and fired five rounds into the door, said Swanson.

Almost immediately, Malden, Melrose and State Police swarmed the area and began searching for the man, described as a black male, about five-feet, nine-inches tall, wearing a dark jacket and hat. Initial reports said the man was wearing a Cincinnati Reds hat, but surveillance photos show he was wearing a gray Red Sox hat, said Swanson.

Police brought several K-9 units to track the suspect on the ground, and a State police helicopter circled the area in an attempt to find the shooter. Melrose K-9 units parked in the Spadafora funeral home parking lot. Once the dogs got out of the car, they streaked down adjacent Leonard Street, climbing the hill up towards Waitt's Mount, with police in hot pursuit, according to Malden police radio transmissions.

Radio reports later said tracks leading off the hill were found. Swanson said he did not believe the suspect was still in the area.

Two schools—the Forestdale and Early Learning Center—were placed under a lockdown order during the ordeal, with students finally released just before 3 p.m., an hour after the usual 2 p.m. release time.

Outside the bank, police cordoned off the area. There was clear gunshot damage to the bank's front door, and at least two ballistic markers were visible in the parking lot.

Police encountered several false alarms during their search for the gunman. Malden police apprehended a man fitting the suspect's description. The man apparently ran once he spotted the officers, according to police radio transmissions. Police tracked him down and found crack cocaine in his possession.

Melrose Police stopped a man in Forestdale Cemetery on Forest Street who possibly fit the description of the gunman, but reported he was not the suspect.

In Melrose, an officer was stationed at the SEEM Collaborative Hurd School at the Ripley School at dismissal time.

The suspect in Thursday's robbery in Malden fits the description given in other area robberies, in Reading and Lynnfield, according to Swanson. Malden Police are consulting with those departments as they investigate the robberies, he said.

Anyone with information should contact the Malden Police Detective Bureau at 781-397-7181 or the FBI Bank Robbery Task Force at 617-742-5533. A reward may be offered.
