I came across this Shell Oil Com[pany, 1933 Quebec roadmap. It has a gorgeous cover with artwork that is so typical of the era. Interesting considering it being a Canadian provincial map, all but four of the licence plates illustrated are USAian. Unfortunately, the map is not in very good condition and was obviously well used. The map was created by H.M. Gousha Company and printed in Canada.
It is just now that I have posted this photo, that the dash of the car and the door reveal are 1933 Dodge, a car that I used to own. The windshield is definitely no 1933 Dodge. In fact, it looks like something from the 1920s.

This is a bit distorted because of the stitching job (software tuned for lensed photographs)

This is natural light and an autumn shot with a vine leaf at its peak. They will soon be gone so these chances have to be taken.
I love the textures on this a bit like a road map, beats the stuff out of G.P.S.

So uh, yeah.... fill out the Touring Bureau card, mail it and then wait for like months before you can go on your motor trip. Something to be said for the immediacy of the internet, yes?
