My room mate is a bit shy when lit with a DIY ringlight.

I'm hoping this Lent to grab a lot more faces and, more importantly a lot more stories.
Dallas brings in its own challenges but in everything, over time, God's presence moves and prevails.
Assembled 3 strips of LED-string on a metal band, which gives me about 150 SMD LED's to light my subject.
Design is inspired by Keith 'BugEZ' Short, "The Bucket Light", where he also uses a large amount of low power led's to surround the subject.
I came across This story on my dinner break at work. After watching the video I can't believe how sick people can be. Especially ones looking after kids. It really hit home with me so the only thing I could do was work on a photo of my own kids.
Did I mention that my wife like's shoes? These have a lot of attitude, wouldn't you say? ;-)
Strobist: Alien Bees 800 into a reflecting umbrella on axis and high at f/5.6. Alien Bees ring light on background at f/8 to insure the background would go white. Main fired with a sync chord; slave fired optically.
I've played around a bit with the original picture (which was largely uncorrected) to remove the scratches on the i-pod I was using as a mirror and the reflection of the ringlight. Figured I'd upload this for comparison rather than replace the other image.
This is a 1:1 macro of a fingernail sized shell.
Mixing some lights here...flouro ring front, frezzi video light cam left rear, gelled 580 cam right rear. Going for a bit of a sci fi look, I was pretty happy with the results.
not to mention a ringlight(!!!) and my (so I've been told) knock you dead stare photo by Simon Thomas I was my own MUAH the combo made for a good photo in my opinion
Let me hear you say, this phone is bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-S!
