Mentre aspettavo un dottore nel suo studio, sono stata affascinata da questo quadro appeso al muro.
È la tavola periodica degli elementi, ideata dal chimico russo Dmitrij Mendeleev nel 1869, e che si usa ancora ora, con l'introduzione di nuovi elementi scoperti nel corso degli ultimi anni. È una classificazione degli elementi chimici presenti in natura in base al loro numero atomico e al numero degli elettroni presenti nel loro orbitale atomico.
Il mondo dell ' infinitamente piccolo.
Al liceo, pur essendo portata per le materie artistiche ( musica e disegno, che non si studiano al Classico ) e letterarie, stranamente le materie che mi piacevano di più, oltre al Greco, erano Fisica e Chimica, che infatti avevo scelto per l'esame.
Materie oltremodo 'terrestri', forse per bilanciare la mia tendenza al sogno e all'idealismo.... Penso, perché non è che mi conosca così bene. Resto spesso stupita da me stessa
L'ultima riga in marrone non si
legge bene : il quadro era protetto da un vetro e la luce fioca.
Avevo un'altra foto più nitida perché presa da più vicino, ma mancava la piantina...

Ártico é o mais velho dos irmãos da Oceania e também o mais recluso.
Assim como ela, ele é um ser elemental da água, mais precisamente um tritão. Ele pode controlar mares e até mesmo lagos e lagoas, mas diferente de Oceania, ele não possui o poder de controlar pessoas e animais. No entanto, ele pode resfriar e até mesmo congelar qualquer coisa que possua água em sua composição.
Ártico não é de muitas palavras e também não é de se enturmar com muita facilidade, preferindo a presença de pessoas já conhecidas que a de estranhos.
É o mais centrado dos irmãos e também o mais responsável e rígido. Apesar de ter um temperamento difícil e ser meio frio com os outros, ele sempre se preocupa com o bem-estar da família, observando se todos estão agindo de maneira correta ou se não estão colocando suas vidas em perigo.
E foi essa preocupação familiar que o trouxe até aqui. Em busca de sua irmã fugitiva, Oceania.

Grace Harwar,"the last full-rigger afloat", photographed by Allan C. Green in Australia. The 266 ft 7 in ship was built in 1889 by Hamilton & Co (Glasgow) for W. Montgomery in London, and sailed for the original owner until 1913, when she was sold to the Finnish Delfin Company in Helsinki. Three years later the Åland Islands (Finland) shipowner Gustaf Erikson bought Grace Harwar.
My restoration and colorization of the original image in the Victoria State Library archive. No date is given, but the library also has a photo of the crew by Green, including a life buoy with the text "Grace Harwar, Helsingfors" (Helsinki), which could indicate that the picture shown here was shot in 1913 - 1916.
Here is a quote from Georg Kåhre´s book The Last Tall Ships (edited by Basil Greenhill) published by Conway Maritime Press in 1977:
"Grace Harwar was never rerigged as a barque, as were so many other full-riggers. She has been called the last full-rigger afloat, and she deserves this honoured title, if one takes into consideration her world-spanning sailings. In 1935, there were, admittedly, a score of fully-rigged training ships and floating museums left in the world, besides the American Tusitala ex Inveruglas, which was laid up, and Calbuco ex Circe, registered in Chile, and Maipo, owned by a guano company in Peru, which are reported to have sailed with cargo at least occasionally. But Grace Harwar was the only one to carry on the traditions of world-wide commercial deep-water sailing to the very last."
Grace Harwar made her last voyage from Australia to the UK in 1935. On 16 July - 11 days after arrival in the UK - she was towed from London to Charlestown Firth of Forth, to be broken up.

DISCLAIMER:
Because of a few current Second Life limitations in the Rendering department, you WILL see some horizontal seams on the Experimental versions due to the material splitting so they'd work with the Alpha HUD. That is why I made 2 versions for each arm. One with and one without alpha divisions.
This issue will be fixed once PBR comes out and the new rendering system is introduced.
The Slim version is made for both those who think the original size is too large and to better fit clothes.
