Took a walk in my neighborhood park today. The sky was beautiful! Plus it was so windy (approximately 30 mph) that I could barely keep my feet on the ground.
Thanks everyone for your views, faves and comments!
Update: Photo of the Day, Capture Dallas (Dallas News online photo group).
The Rowlett Creek in Richardson, TX was flowing swiftly, was creating lovely swirls. Evening sunlight, reflections of trees helped create a beautiful water abstract. The creek is running higher than normal. I think there may be a limestone slab or a collection of tree limbs underneath the oval reflection, center of photo. The water kept swirling around at this spot and creating beautiful designs and reflections, aided by the background trees and late evening sunlight.
THANK YOU ALL FOR VIEWS, FAVES AND COMMENTS!
This waterfall in the Richardson, TX area is usually just a trickle, but with all the rain we have received in the DFW area it has turned into a beast.
While standing on a bridge, I noticed the cool reflections of the overhead trees in Beck Branch. This small stream of water is always shallow and gently flows into the much larger Rowlett Creek. Collin County, Richardson, TX.

Richardson is a suburb of Dallas, Texas.
Bird Breeze. Couldn't resist getting a picture of this bird just sitting there enjoying the cool refreshing breeze of the moment. Hope you enjoy.
Shooting in Dallas in January can be a challenge. There is really no foliage, not much color and the water level in all our lakes and streams are at a all time low. I did get out this past weekend to see what I could find - it was in the 70s (not our typical January weather). The shot above is from a park in Richardson, TX. This long green belt park has a few nice waterfalls and mature trees. I liked this shot because it offers some nice colors and light, plus a respectable reflection on the stream. I'd like to come back here in the spring once the leaves are back and the water is at a higher level.
Thanks for looking!
I posted a shot from this same park a few days ago. It was pretty late in the day when I got around to shooting this waterfall, so the light was not idea - plus I shot with a ND filter. It's a little dark on Flickr, but when I brighten it up it gets washed out. Oh well, I like the shot.
The winter weather in Dallas has been very mild so far...and I'm not complaining. Our spring weather will start in about a month - so fingers crossed the real cold temps will stay up North this year.
