The ratio of volunteers-to-runners needed to make this run a success is probably second only to Western States . . .

Lieber Schwager...

The Kilcock Ladies GAA Santa Dash Christmas 5km Race and Fun Run took place in Kilcock, Co. Kildare, Ireland at 13:00 on Sunday 16th December 2012. This was the first running of this event and overall it was a great success. There was tonnes of Christmas spirit and good cheer! There was also lots and lots of Christmas goodies for the runners afterwards in the GAA Club. Well done to Kilcock Ladies GAA on a superb event.

The race started at Connaught Street, near the Royal Canal, and took in the wellknown local walking route around Laragh (Sli Na Slainte). This route is familiar to many runners as a reverse of the Kilcock AC 5KM held annually every summer. The race was organised to help raise funds for the many ladies teams that the girls from Branganstown continue to field year after year. The Kilcock Ladies are a vital part of the local community and provide football for all age groups in the town. 2012 was a very special year for the Ladies section of Kilcock GAA club as they celebrated the 20th year since their foundation back in 1992.

Overall, over 200 people took part in the run and race. There were many Santas making their way in their red suits, beards, and runners around the 5KM route.

This is our set of photographs from the finish of the race.

Reverse of the bird apron I made for my daughter.

This shoot was inspired again by Linder's 'she she' series. However as my other shoots were mainly headshots, I decided to expand my inspiration, and do abstract full body shots in our home studio. There is no photo where you can see the full models' face, adding to the abstraction of the photos. I thoroughly enjoyed this shoot.

Holding a lens reversed in front of the camera gives you some nice and cheap macro possibilities :-)

142027 has just arrived at Knottingley with the 13.17 from Leeds. After reversing at nearby England Lane, the set will return to Leeds with the 14.26 departure. Nice to see a 142 on the job instead of the usual 144!

A visit to Reverse Garbage at Woolongabba was recommended to me recently and I was not disappointed with my visit. The shop accepts goods which otherwise were headed for landfill. They sort and sell a surprising range of items which are popular for those whose skills extend to up cycling. My purchase is on the counter with the male staff member.

This Centurian, "Admiral", has reversed over and punctured (and almost completely buried) the single-wheeled bowser full of petrol that it was towing! Why we did not blow up I will never know!

I was a bigger fan of the green than the cream and seeing the reverse set confirms what I though -- they look awesome!

Taken through the "wrong side" of a pair of binoculars. Ended up quite nice I think.
