We're striving to reduce packaging waste in our store. We'll give you one of these reusable, lightweight, comfortable, thermally bondable, soft, strong, stain resistant, recyclable, totally awesome bags for free when you make purchases at the Threadless store. Then, bring it back all the other times you come by and we'll give you a dollar off of each non-sale garment you purchase! So, if you buy 5 shirts, you get $5 off!

The bags are made of Non-Woven Polypropylene, a 100% recyclable fiber.

It's huge!

The Space Shuttle was a partially reusable low Earth orbital spacecraft system operated by the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

NASA's space shuttle fleet began setting records with its first launch on April 12, 1981 and continued to set high marks of achievement and endurance through 30 years of missions. Starting with Columbia and continuing with Challenger, Discovery, Atlantis and Endeavour, the spacecraft has carried people into orbit repeatedly, launched, recovered and repaired satellites, conducted cutting-edge research and built the largest structure in space, the International Space Station. The final space shuttle mission, STS-135, ended July 21, 2011 when Atlantis rolled to a stop at its home port, NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

I love the little vinyl onesie packages for re-packing them as a gift or for shipping. The gift box in the background is recycled, too...with the same style onesie inside.

I love using MOO cards as hang-tags, too.

Hello 70s!

When removing the cupboards and cambines the old original wooden panels appeared. I did consider keeping them, but they are VERY brittle from age, plus there isfly-crap galore in every little gap where a fly can get in (hey, the house is old!) . Plus I have to insulate and eventually put new tiles on the walls, so the panels had to come down. But it is very nice to see how the house is constructed.

When I get to work on the other rooms in the house I might decide to bring the panels back to life.

I've started stripping this room in preparation for making a new bathroom. As you probably can see it hasn't been redecorated since the colourful seventies.

In the days beyond recall (the 60's), this was a grocery store callled the Pantry Shelf. It's been through a few changes before becoming a restaurant supply house called Shop-N-Go. Now it's vacant. It could easily be a small grocery store again, but probably not with Fairplay 3 blocks away.

I am enthralled over these little baskets made from greeting cards...I found this one at an antique store.

Various postcards made in May, in honor of "put a bird on it" month :^)

Reused calendar cover with acrylic; various book or magazine or (Audobon) calendar clippings.

The reformed HDPE bags were weak from overheating, and did not have much elasticity left. Too bad... maybe if I'd been more careful making them they would have fit over the shoe-shaped template.

At least it is still servicing the Metrocentre and Gateshead despite it not being on its usual Intu Metrocentre X66 seen here in Newcastle making an odd appearance on Green Arrow Service 97 to Metrocentre in place of an ADL Alexander Dennis Enviro 200MMC

How to handle storm-damaged trees? This unique solution was spotted by Field Staffer Jim: Several years ago, I gave a presentation on recycling to the Burnt Mills Civic Association. The neighborhood had recently been hit by a large storm that had knocked down a number of large old trees. After the meeting, we walked around to look at the damage. One resident stopped and commented that the tree at this house looked like a dinosaur, very large, old and majestic. When I drove by a few weeks ago, it had been transformed into this beautiful wooden totem display – a sight to behold! Reusing something from nature for art’s sake is a win!

Reuse is fun! An old sweater with worn out cuffs, a t-shirt with a nice motif, but now too small, and a trouser with holes and no elastic anymore - turned into a new sweater!

My lint art.

Yes, lint (not the bellybutton kind) the stuff you clean out of your dryer when doing the laundry.

These reusable part boxes have steel reinforced sides to eliminate wood flexing, and link-locks for easy access. Observation ports to expedite customs inspections, allow inspection agents to peek in and verify the parts for combustion turbines inside without opening the container.

Another area of my craft corner. I had the idea a couple of days ago to re-use a mug tree (that I didn't use anymore because I have faaaaar too many mugs now !!! LOL) to hang my scissors, and other things like the thank you gifts I send with orders, or my shop tags, etc ... I though the idea was neat & wished the mug tree was twice the size !! ahah ! First time I see this species in the garden :-).

They could quite possibly be the best grocery bag ever!

They are identical to the typical plastic grocery bag that you find in every store...but these are not plastic. They are made from reclaimed vintage fabric making them light weight, but still super sturdy. They are cut on the fold...eliminating any seam on the bottom of the bag. All edges are serged, no raw edges. I now make them with a simple strap/snap closure. This makes them nice and tidy...easy to stuff several in your purse, car, or diaper bag. There handles easily loop over the metal holders at the grocery stores. The vintage prints are snazzy and might even make grocery shopping a little more fun.

Reduce, reuse, and recycle--i thought this was a cool way to resuse old water bottles. filled with colored water, people can just make different patterns.

Reusable shopping bag to use each time you go to a store. This is so we can use it again and again and not have to use new ones that we simply throw away after we use them.

Reduce:

1. the amount of packaging by buying products in bulk

2. the amount of paper consumption in the office, school, etc. DON'T BE A TREE-KILLER!

Recycle:

1. all aluminum cans and plastic bottles

2. newspapers, magazines, junk mail, and paper

3. all old electronics and clothing at specific facilities and/or donation centers instead of dumping them in the trash

4. yard waste: leaves, branches, grass, etc.

Reuse:

1. buy products that are made from recycleable materials

2. find creative ways to reuse paper and boxes

I like the large one by the stove, the small goes in a caddy on the table. The smaller was an ice wine bottle - they are great bottles! I want some more ice wine bottles, preferrably clear, for salad dressing/vinegar mixtures. The spouts are cheap at a local kitchen supply shop.

My cousin picked the kitty fabric herself. The pink home deck fabric came from Joann's. I mostly used this tutorial but adjusted the strap to wrap all the way around the bag for greater stability.

This is one of my favorite wine glasses. I'm sure it's not a perfect design to appreciate the qualities of finer wine, but it's still wonderful to me.

It's made from a Rose's Lime Juice Bottle. That's the top of the bottle turned over onto the former bottom.

I purchased it years ago from the now-defunct garden.com. They gave out gift certificates for $15 of free merchandise to attract buyers. I used mine to get this and some seeds or something else I don't recall. I should have immediately bought a few more, but I didn't. And now after searching, I cannot find anymore. I did find someone with an etsy shop who might be able to replicate this glass. Let's all hope!

Mada's Place reusable snack bags are an eco-friendly alternative to plastic bags. They're water resistant and easy to clean. With more than 50 fabric choices to choose from, kids and adults of all ages will be sure to find one that suits their style.
