Alas, playing hard, Calan broke his leg, when he tried to jump up on the couch and fell backwards. As of this posting, it's now been two weeks, and the splint has barely slowed him down. But he's supposed to be taking it easy so he's not allowed to be leash-free in the yard, only in a restricted area of the house. He (and we) are looking forward to the all clear from the veterinarian.

The lake bottom of Lagoa do Paúl consists of algae and mosses and gives you the feeling of a large resilient carpet. It looks like a magical power have drawn circles, like the crop circles we all know, but appearances are deceiving. A farmer with his tractor, I think, got out for a round ride :-)

Her name is Joyeeta, which is a Bengali name meaning the undefeated and conquering. Our names are indeed a very vital part of our identity- they do make our personality & some how sync with our natural disposition. And I keep wondering at that. As her name implies Joyeeta is second to none - a fiery 22 year old with deep compassion for fellow beings and her dreams. It was such a pleasure and an honour to photograph her last eve at my home studio.

We had our first snow squall a couple of days ago and then frost, most of my flowers are gone but this one is completely unfazed by the elements and stands out in it's beauty.

Six Ginkgo biloba trees survived the 1945 bombing of Hiroshima. They were situated near the blast center and appeared to bud after the blast without major deformations. They are still alive today. Therefore the Ginkgo is regarded as the 'bearer of hope'.

No Group Awards/Banners, thanks

A macro of an elephant, how weird does that sound. A rework using curves, burn and dodge tools etc to try and bring out the textures more. Have a great week.

Day 5 of this month's hand photos. Living in an area where we have such harsh winters, you must be resilient. Spring is such a welcome relief!

This is Helleborus 'Love Bug' and there are plenty of reasons to love these hardy beauties! After our snow had melted, it was as if nothing had happened!

This live oak in the park at the harbor in Charleston, South Carolina shows how these trees resist storms. The branches twist about in storms, even hurricanes, but do not break.
