To request permission, send an email briefly describing the proposed use to requests@chesapeakebay.net. Please do not attach jpegs. Instead, reference the corresponding Flickr URL of the image.

Jaarlijks overlijden er wereldwijd 800.000 kinderen aan de gevolgen van diarree en om dat aantal terug te dringen, zetten 3FM en het Rode Kruis zich van 18 t/m 24 december vanuit Leeuwarden in om zoveel mogelijk geld in te zamelen voor deze stille ramp. Serious Request is a project by Dutch radio station 3FM in which they collect money for projects of the Red Cross. Three DJs live in a house of glass for six days (5 days in 2004) and was located at the Neude in Utrecht the first years without anything to eat in this whole period. In 2007, the Glass house was located on 't Plein in The Hague. In 2008 the Glass House could be found on de Grote Markt in Breda. Meanwhile they play songs requested by people who listen to the radio and those who take time to visit the house. With the requests the listeners donate a certain amount of money that is reliable for the person(s) in question. Furthermore lots of notable Dutch people are helping the project outside the house. There is also an auction held every year. The project was held for the first time in 2004 and has been held every year since and takes place during the week prior to Christmas. Each year one track is adopted by the DJs as the "goed gevoel plaat" ("feel good track"). These tracks are seen as the unofficial theme songs and were not chosen before the project started, but were automatically created as the week progressed.

I went into the stationery store for a work-related purchase. I was there for about 2 minutes. When I went in, I immediately made eye contact with the sales rep, asked for the particular item, and had her lead me directly to the correct location. As we turned to go to the till, these caught my eye, and I was unable to leave the stationery store without making an impulse buy!

We celebrate light in our pictures. Understanding how light interacts with the camera is paramount to the work we do. The temperature, intensity and source of light can wield different photography effect on the same subject or scene; add ISO, aperture and speed, the camera, the lens type, focal length and filters…the combination is varied and multi-layered and if you know how to use them all, you will come to appreciate that all lights are useful, even those surrounded by a lot of darkness.
We are guided by three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, our longing to capture in print, that which is beautiful, the constant search for the one picture, and constant barrage of new equipment and style of photography. These passions, like great winds, have blown us across the globe in search of the one and we do understand the one we do look for might be this picture right here for someone else out there.

A part of the weekend was the dressing up to get the atmosphere. An integral part of life was the "spiv or wide boy" who always could get what people wanted off ration etc.

(1) We understand your passion for the game. And we als understand that you play to win, and you take it one game at a time. Sometimes we notice that you all sacrifice your bodies for the sake of the game. This manifests itself by you slamming into the wall. We are concerned that one day, one of you will come crashing through the wall while diving for a ping pong. Please ask yourself -- is this worth it? Do I risk ending my ping pong playing days for a single save? What will you tell your children when daddy can't play ping pong like the rest of the daddies because he threw himself through a wall at Yahoo?
We love our wall, and we would prefer that you not come crashing through it. Perhaps crashing into the foosball table would be safer. Alternatively, move the ping pong table away from the wall.
(2) Like football, ping pong is an extremely intense game. We understand that, at times, you may feel the need to cry out in victory over your opponents. We encourage this behavior -- crusing your enemies and seeing them flee before you is an emotional moment for all of us. But there are times when it sounds as if you're going head to head in a real-life version of Mortal Kombat, ripping out your opponent's spine and whacking them with it. Making noise is fine, but it would be preferable if your glee is not confused with a Lockheed Martin jet engine fly-over. Thanks for your cooperation. Non-compliance will result in theft of the ping pong table or relocation of the ping pong table into Sandeep Khanna's cube.
