Took a few pictures of Jack today at the request of a friend who wanted some updated ones. It's so scary how grown up he is looking these days - our baby is no longer a baby but turning into a toddler more and more by the day.
I managed to learn something new today when I put these three photos together in Photoshop Elements. My husband bought me a copy for Christmas and up until recently I still hadn't got it out of the box. I'm slowly learning how to do little bits and bobs here and there and today taught myself how to stitch three images together and came up with this. I'm looking forward to learning some new editing techniques and sharing the results.

Kyle and Alec requested me to do a photo shoot of their robot, which I kindly complied. This robot is the best performing robot this year, but unfortunately failed to win the race due to a series of unforeseen problems (just like my robot, Gadget).

I am not sure how it took so long, but I finally signed up for the All Access Ship Tour on our recent cruise. Wow - this was fantastic! Our tour guide was Nemo (from the Shore Excursions team) - and he did a great job. I took the tour on Thursday February 21st at 9am (our first of two days at sea on our way home). Here is the description from the cruise planner: "Get a behind-the-scenes look at what we do to create your best vacation ever. Join your friendly guide for an exclusive narrated tour onboard your ship. Start off in the dining room, where you’ll find out what our crew does to get ready for every meal, plus try to set up a table yourself. Do you know where to place the water glass or soup spoon? Walk through the main galley to see how our delicious dishes are prepared, plus take a look at the provision area to see all of the ingredients we need to have on hand — it’s a lot! Jaarlijks overlijden er wereldwijd 800.000 kinderen aan de gevolgen van diarree en om dat aantal terug te dringen, zetten 3FM en het Rode Kruis zich van 18 t/m 24 december vanuit Leeuwarden in om zoveel mogelijk geld in te zamelen voor deze stille ramp. We celebrate light in our pictures. Understanding how light interacts with the camera is paramount to the work we do. The temperature, intensity and source of light can wield different photography effect on the same subject or scene; add ISO, aperture and speed, the camera, the lens type, focal length and filters…the combination is varied and multi-layered and if you know how to use them all, you will come to appreciate that all lights are useful, even those surrounded by a lot of darkness.
We are guided by three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, our longing to capture in print, that which is beautiful, the constant search for the one picture, and constant barrage of new equipment and style of photography. These passions, like great winds, have blown us across the globe in search of the one and we do understand the one we do look for might be this picture right here for someone else out there.

It took me two days to finish it because I was worried about the placing of the face etc - I can even see now more than before that the head is way too wide but my favourite part is the jacket because of the detail heehee!!
