In de week voor Kerstmis haalt NPO 3FM samen met heel Nederland geld op om ouders en kinderen te herenigen tijdens 3FM Serious Request. Wereldwijd zijn meer dan vier miljoen familieleden elkaar kwijt door een ramp of conflict. Het Rode Kruis herenigt deze mensen met hun geliefden. Check www.3fm.nl/seriousrequest.
On the 23rd of December, Gitaarlem organised a concert with all the musical contributors of the initiative. Again to raise more money and awareness for Serious Request, a fundraising event organised bu 3 FM radio and the Red Cross.

Members of the Project Karyne, students from Gisèle Lalonde High School, and other members of the community stood in front of their local windmill and solar panels to promote clean energy as a solution to climate change and to urge politicians to pass clean energy policies.
On 10/10/10, there will be over 7,000 similar climate action events taking place in in 188 countries around the world as part of “The Global Work Party.” This synchronized international event is organized by 350.org, and is expected to be the largest day of climate action in history.

3FM Serious Request draait dit jaar om meisjes en vrouwen die slachtoffer zijn van seksueel geweld in conflictgebieden. 3FM Serious Request 2014 vraagt aandacht voor een stille ramp die miljoenen vrouwen treft en beschadigt. 3FM-DJ’s Coen Swijnenberg, Gerard Ekdom en Domien Verschuuren in het Glazen Huis in Haarlem willen deze vrouwen een stem geven en zoveel mogelijk geld inzamelen voor het Rode Kruis, zodat zij opgevangen worden en een leven kunnen opbouwen. We tend to celebrate light in our pictures. Understanding how light interacts with the camera is paramount to the work we do. The temperature, intensity and source of light can wield different photography effect on the same subject or scene; add ISO, aperture and speed, the camera, the lens type, focal length and filters…the combination is varied ad multi-layered and if you know how to use them all, you will come to appreciate that all lights are useful, even those surrounded by a lot of darkness.
We are guided by three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, our longing to capture in print, that which is beautiful, the constant search for the one picture, and constant barrage of new equipment and style of photography. These passions, like great winds, have blown us across the globe in search of the one and we do understand the one we do look for might be this picture right here for someone else out there.

Camille Ray sets a hold request for customer to retrieve from table at View Park Bebe Moore Campbell Library, as part of the LA County Library Sidewalk Service that is now available in select locations, June 12, 2020.
In accordance with revised Public Health orders, LA County Library is offering sidewalk service holds pickup at select library locations beginning Monday, June 8. All bookdrops will also reopen for item returns that day. This is the first step of a phased reopening, with additional locations and hours to be added at a later date.
Sidewalk service begins at 24 libraries, listed below, and at LACountyLibrary.org/express-service. Holds may be picked up Monday – Friday, 10 am – 5 pm. Libraries remain closed to the public, but staff are answering phone lines during the hours of 9 am – 6 pm, Monday - Friday.
