National Service of Thanksgiving for Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee at St Paul’s Cathedral, 3 June 2022

“The Queen was represented by The Prince of Wales, accompanied by The Duchess of Cornwall, this morning at a National Service of Thanksgiving for Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee in St. Paul's Cathedral.
Their Royal Highnesses were received at the Cathedral by the Rt. Hon. the Lord Mayor (Alderman Vincent Keaveny), the Dean (the Very Reverend David Ison) and Chapter, the Bishop of London and the Archbishop of York.

The Service was conducted by the Dean of St. Paul's; the Archbishop of York preached the Sermon.
Her Majesty's Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms and The Queen's Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard were on duty.
After the Service Members of the Royal Family attended a Reception given by the Rt. Hon. the Lord Mayor and the City of London Corporation at Guildhall, London EC2.”

Marion Bulwinkle, representing the South Carolina National Guard Foundation, presents a $1,000 Barbara Watson Memorial Scholarship to Sydney McCall on June 17, 2026, in Columbia, South Carolina. The scholarship will assist McCall with educational expenses as she attends the University of South Carolina. McCall is the daughter of Command Sgt. Maj. Norris McCall and Felicia McCall. Julian Watson, Barbara Watson's husband, and Rebecca Bertok, Barbara Watson's daughter, attended the presentation. The Barbara Watson Memorial Scholarship honors the legacy of Command Sgt. Maj. Barbara Watson (retired) and supports students pursuing higher education. The McCall family, who share deep hometown ties with the Watson family in Chesterfield County, expressed gratitude for the award and the lasting impact Barbara has had on their community. Boxing: Liquid graphic athlete images used to represent the 28 sports of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
Comment:
There were many things Sydney 2000 got instinctively right, two of them were the absolute unmovable commitment to the delivery of sport, and that the athletes were the stars of the show. This trickled down to small but very important catch phrases that we used in Sport and in the creation of sports content and design, like “all athletes are created equal’ and ‘all sports are created equal’. Every athlete had their own unique story - we were not just interested in the big names, and all sports would be given an equal commitment in content.
When it came to the original design concepts, they displayed beautiful designs illustrating the grace and beauty of perfect athletic performance, but initially only featured athletic images from a few of the ‘big’ sports. The above commitment meant all or none, so we, with FHA Design agency, created core graphics reflecting all 28 sports and their disciplines.
Remembering that it was still very much an analogue world 20 years ago, meaning most of what we created sits in bookshelves in the Olympic Museum in printed form only, so twenty years on, we reintroduce a few of the core Sydney 2000 sport graphics.

The Loucks Farm represents a typical progressive farm of the 1860s. It is named for the family that owned the impressive stone farmhouse that originally sat on the banks of the St. Lawrence in Canada's Dundas County. The Loucks family was descended from a Loyalist of German ancestry who settled in the area after the American revolution.
Visitors to the farm can visit a large collection of farm buildings including several barns, a hired man's house, and animal pens, as well as tour the main home and gardens. According to the season, costumed interpreters will be involved in typical farming tasks of the era, whether in the home or in the fields, and around the barnyard. Children, especially, enjoy a visit to the farm and are encouraged to assist with daily tasks, including milking cows or leading the new-born calves around the barnyard.
There is an air of affluence around the Loucks farm since the 1860s were a prosperous decade for ambitious farmers who developed improved breeding stock, bought the latest agricultural machinery, or who joined together to build a co-operative cheese factory to turn their excess milk production into export dairy products for domestic or international consumption
This sense of economic well-being also pervades the interior of the main farmhouse as visitors admire the impressive square piano in the parlour, the substantial dining room furniture, or the luxurious fabrics and wall-papers so admired by mid-century Canadian housewives.
The Loucks family is typical of many affluent pre-Confederation farm families who looked forward to an even brighter future for their next generation as agricultural trade expanded into the new provinces to the east and the west.

Guatemaltecos representando a diversos sectores de la sociedad se reunieron la tarde del sábado 11 de marzo en la Plaza de la Constitución para manifestar en contra del Gobierno de Jimmy Morales por la muerte de manera calcinadas de 40 niñas en el Hogar “Seguro” Virgen de la Asunción, hecho que sucedió el miércoles 8 de marzo del 2017.

Análise do Discurso
O retablo de David Mecalco traz uma combinação de elementos da cultura mexicana em seu discurso: a representação da caveira é um símbolo da cultura mexicana utilizado nos rituais do Dia dos Mortos no México, representando a vida e a proteção contra os maus espíritos. O uso da caveira como símbolo sagrado foi incorporado à cultura mexicana por influência dos Maias, Incas e Astecas (povos pré-colombianos) que habitavam a região do México. Além da cultura da caveira mexicana, a ‘’Lucha Libre’’ também é aspecto da cultura popular mexicana que carrega muitos símbolos construídos a partir da religiosidade pré-colombiana.
