A good example of how very difficult it is to effect a perfect match of handlebar tape or cable housing with the limited number of colors available today... or at any time during the past 30+ years. Compare this to the photo of Anquetil on his Helyett (here) ... which shows his cable casings perfectly matching the green enamel of his frame.
This photo is only one of many fine images showing this bike and components. It was built up as a replica of Andre Derrigade's racing bike from 1956. They are all available for viewing on a French blog-site. Here is a direct link:

It's kind of a bummer that there is some stuff blocking the view to the old houses. I could have moved the camera to the square but I wanted to keep get as close as possible to the viewpoint of the original picture. And on the other hand I like that my picture shows some changes that have happened after the original picture was taken. The third house of the original pic is there by the way... If you zoom in you can see a bit of it under the leaves of the tree.
There are only a few old wooden houses in this area. A lot was changed around 80's and most buildings are from that period. I have looked up some old maps and the location info of those old pictures when researching for these replication pics. It seems that most streets that were there before the 80's are not there any more. The streets that exist now have different names and they are at different places too. A few remain though.
The pillar on the foreground belongs to one of the "newer" buildings.
The bus line 23 (from the sign in the original photo) still exists and closest stop is about 150 meters from this spot. It can still get you to Siltasaari and quite close to the spot that is called Eläintarha. Eläintarha is actually finnish word for zoo, but there has actually never been a zoo on there.
Btw... The originals I'm linking here usually have a lot more resolution than what is apparent when the page first loads. Left mousebutton click on the picture zooms in and loads more details (and sharpness). Then you can use mouse to drag the image to see the corners etc. and right button to zoom out.

today I was asked to replicate one of these
chairs for a clients client.
Upon further examination, we noted the
"stripped" chair was made of thin tubing, and obviously made more recently than the
chair with the cushions attached.
Also, the older chair? was made from solid bar- and
as a further sign of its "antique-ness" we noted the upholstery was applied with tacks, NOT staples as
used later in Upholstery.

nrhp # 84002937- Replications of E. M. Viquesney’s “The Spirit of the American Doughboy” are believed to be the focal points of over ten-percent of U. S. World War I memorials, exclusive of those memorials that are merely plaques. Additionally, some believe that except for the Statue of Liberty, Viquesney’s Doughboy replicas have collectively been seen by more people than any sculpture in the U. S., even though many don’t realize they have seen them.
Toward the end of his time living in Americus, Georgia, in 1920 Viquesney created his Doughboy in response to a national interest to honor those who died, were wounded, or served in the World War. He said he started thinking about creating a sculpture and what it should depict, as well as making preliminary sketches, during the war. (While the war was still in process, Woodrow Wilson’s Secretary of War, Newton Baker, encouraged communities across the nation to erect memorial or monuments to honor the Doughboys, and that may have contributed to Viquesney’s initial thought on that line.) While he wanted to depict an American soldier in battle, he didn’t want to depict excessive might or power by portraying a soldier charging or running forward. Instead, he wanted to depict the "spirit" of the American Doughboy's determination to preserve freedom for their country and mankind. So he portrayed a Doughboy striding firmly forward in an erect posture through "no man’s land."
One of the most readily recognizable features of "Spirit of The American Doughboy" is his upwardly extended right arm with a grenade in the upraised hand. The other is the two stumps at his right front and left rear. His left arm extends downward and his left hand holds a bayoneted 1903 Springfield rifle, pointed forward at about thigh height. He wears a flat steel helmet, trousers bloused above the knee, and puttees (wrapped leggings) below the knees, all of the type worn by Doughboys in World War I. He wears a rectangular bedroll backpack with a bayonet scabbard on the side, a square gas mask pouch on his chest, a cartridge belt, canteen, mess kit, and first aid kit. Since he’s striding, rather than running or charging, his leading left leg is straight. His right leg is bent and, while the right heel is raised, the right sole is on the "ground." Barbed wire was originally strung loosely around his feet and the stumps, but it’s been removed for safety reasons from some Doughboys and is missing from others for other reasons.
