We’ve owned our Volvo XC70 for 8 years as of 1 April 2024. It’s getting on a bit as it is now 13 years old with 144k on the clock. It’s been remarkably reliable so far.
However the passenger’s door lock needs a new actuator motor. The door lock issue is a hangover from the era that Ford owned Volvo and Land Rover. Many models use the same assembly including the Freelander and the Mondeo. It’s a common fault. I have to disassemble most of the door to get the lock out. The motor is small and looks like it belongs in a Scalextric car.
Thank goodness someone has explained all this on a YouTube video. Its a complicated assembly that requires many tools, confidence and patience to work on. The new motors simply click into place including the electrical contacts.
